MK7.5 GOLF R Intercooler - will it fit

Does anybody know if a MK7.5 R's OEM intercooler will fit a 6C GTI?

Stock on 6C seems tiny, although the AirTec aftermarket 1 seems to approach OEM R in volume, shape may be an issue though.

I very much doubt it. The Polo is noticeably narrower than the Golf and the intercooler on the Golf basically goes from one headlight over to the other. Also if you look at the pics in this link, it shows the Polo has a different design crash bar which would not fit with the full height Golf intercooler.: Wagner Tuning Intercooler VAG 1,4 TSI Polo 6R 6C - Harding Performance

The Wagner IC is about 2.5 times as thick as the OEM core and definitely thicker than an R OEM IC. I pulled a 6C GTI apart over the weekend and there was about a radiator thickness space behind the bar. I'll have to measure it over the weekend to see exactly how much space.

Won't have the R OEM IC ready to test "fit" till XMas anyway, just curious as I will have it spare then and will probably need to replace the GTI IC (as well as a few other bits )





Another project although the R is getting love too atm.
