yes, the content is in the root.

Well it should work as thats what I had to do when it wouldnt work It only finds stuff in the root directory and if you have say a folder

called ROW79 and extract into that you have to open it and copy the shown folders and the file onto the card.

I didnt the first time and it couldnt find anything so I went back to the ROW76 card I had and looked at how it was.

I did it like i posted and it worked. I actually just copied it onto a card with stuff on it and it found the folders Ok and installed the update.

If you use Discover care it formats the card first

Well, my plan now is to install P76 using DiscoverCare and see if it works.

Looks like it was Mac related issue after all (regardless me deleting all hidden folders).
I've put the card into Windows laptop, full format, re-downloaded the maps, unpacked and copied into the card.
Glove box SD 1 slot, maps update has been recognised and completed in about 45 minutes.

It does pay to say what you trying to do it on as Macs cause more angst than enough when you dont say thats what you are using

I'm trying this for the first time, but when I go to the link, it only offers me European maps, and downloading the Windows app only seems to allow European maps as well (unless 'Multi Region Map' means ROW)

The site is currently experiencing issues with ROW maps for Discover Pro units, unknown when it will be back and running again.

Look around the NAV units are the same across most of the MQB platform so look in the Golf and Tiguan forums for stuff

Anyone running into the issue with the Active Info Display? For me, ever since i upgraded my AID says "starting map".
Ive attempted to reset the headunit, factory settings, run the update again and make sure the maps is running.
Hoping im not the only one!

For the life of me I cant get this to work, feel like a dummy as I upgraded it early 2018 but now coming up with an error when trying to load this into car.

Could someone please list the download, extract and update procedure for dummies.

Click on the link It will bring up a box with a file name int it and asking if you want to save it or open it, Save it When you have done that go to location and Unzip it to a folder on your HDD

Get an SD card with 32 GIGABYTE CAPACITY Make sure its formatted in FAT 32

Copy the folder you unzipped it to onto the SD card

Put it in the DISCOVER PRO and tell it to update.

If you have a MAC that you are trying to do it on Chuck it in the bin and use a PC

Thanks Hillbilly, i've just been unzipping it directly to an 80gb SD card and it's in EX-FAT.

Ok will reformat and extract to HDD then copy on FAT-32 SD.

Try it with that it might work as it seems some reckon it does Where did you get an 80GB card thats a weird size and it wont format as Fat32 without a special formatting program as Fat 32 only works in Windows up to 32GB cards

Also are you using a PC or a Mac


You should have 2 folders named Mib 1 and Mib2 and a file named Metainfo.2text in the root directory of the card
You can extract it directly to the card OK

If you use Discover Care it does all that directly for you

My bad it is a 32 GB card but apparently not big enough when I try and unzip download into it now comes up with an error and says not enough space on disk. Disk space is 29.7 gb free.

32 gb card IS big enough as I downloaded that file onto one this morning to see if it would do it right Are you sure that like another poster it isnt a 32 MEGABYTE card instead of a 32 GIGABYTE card

What machine are you using because MACS cause more problems than they are worth

My card says 28GB used 1.8GB free
