The app is crap.

I dont use it.

I downloaded it straight.

I downloaded again, the Aussie maps were corrupt again.

The Aus maps haven't been updated.

I've downloaded the file listed above.. Quite large being RoW.
Can you omit irrelevant places from the SD card to make it smaller/quicker?
I don't think I'll need the maps for Africa, Asia, South America, Middle East...

Or does it all need the right version?

You download the ROW version and it will only load the necessary maps into the infotainment I think.

Not 100% sure.

I had my car's first service recently.
When i picked it up I asked if the maps were updated as part of the service.
He said no, i said but it's a free update, he said yes but you have to ask for it.
I said WHAAAT? He said...next time.🤔

That's interesting. At my VW service centre I asked for a map update during the first service. They said its $159.

I called VW Customer Support line, and they also told me its a paid service. If you can get it thrown in for free then do it!

Well...my car will be in for a minor warranty issue soon and I've asked for the map update at the same time, we'll see what happens.

I picked up my Alltrack Wolfsburg on Saturday and updated the maps on Sunday thanks to this thread. I do have one question though, I downloaded the "DiscoverCare" program which runs OK but it always says it has no internet access, when the PC definitely does have internet access. Has anyone managed to get this working?
