I'm leaning towards the extended warranty but my recent history is one of owning cars cars that have had zero issues. We have an ix35 and only replaced 1 reversing sensor under warranty. Had an AH Astra for 8 years and only replaced 1 interior light globe + regular service items of course. Never had a car that really needed much fixed under warranty and hoping the Passat will be the same.

I see your from Tassie , we will be taking the Wolfie down there in October. I nearly got a rental car stuck down a dirt track last time we were there no problems next time.

I would get the Eric 5 year extended warranty insurance (8yrs total) as highlighted in an earlier post if you are going to spend a couple of grand for a 2yr extended warranty (5yr total) .....

How much is that costing you? I can see any way to get a quote from them.

I got an email from the guy and he said that prices are going up on 1st May.

Ok didn't end up picking up my Wolfsburg today car was still in pre delivery. To be fair on the dealer they didn't get the car until wednesday which they told me would be the case on Sunday. I will be tied up with work and won't be able to pick it up until next thursday now. grrrr

Hmmm what to say. Basically I love it. So quiet and smooth but handles really well. Have done 700 km and it looks like fuel economy will be about 10% over the official figures as expected. Best so far is 5.5. Can't really fault anything. I really need to get traffic working (waiting on obdii adapter). Feels like a real luxury car which I never expected, you don't pick that from a brief drive.

Yeah, we love ours too! Just updated mine with OBD11. R-clocks on dash, TMC, Fan speed on Auto & beep on lock/unlock.
