Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

i took one of these for a drive a month ago and was extremely impressed with the refinement, and i thought that the interior finish with the aluminium inserts, piano black inserts, active info display, led ambient lighting & chrome detail, napper leather and black headlining made this vehicle a hell of a lot more classy than the basic alltrack without options.

crimson red is a colour that does grow on you, and it works better with the 19 inch wheels, and premium led tail lights and headlights.
i own a white alltrack, and must say the red is a much better colour than white, imo.

the biggest bonus with the wolfsburg over std alltrack being active info and adaptive chasis, auto tailgate, and led headlights with option of no sunroof.

downside was that the led headlights arent dynamic, except for leveling, and no automated parking.
Not that i use the auto parking, but rather the sensors for tight manouvers such as my garage.

i was extremely keen on getting one in grey or red, as soon as i had sold my current alltrack, but then the new golf alltrack specs came out
with dynaudio, so im now sold on that
Any info on the financing rates for the Alltrack WE?

The single largest factor impacting any finance rate you will be quoted is YOUR financial circumstances.

There is a pricing offer of 54990 d/a

I believe that "Wolfsburg" badged models will be a lot more common in the coming years for VW Australia. From an article I read, their plans are to pretty much have at least 1 (often more) "Wolfsburg" badged model available in the range at all times.
          Cheers

So i just ponied up for a Passat Alltrack Wolfsburg in grey. Question is, is it worth the $495 the dealer is asking to tint it? Since they are only going to darken the front windows with tint and apply clear uv tint for the rear ones (as they are already tinted glass)

You can't get them to throw it in? Definitely worth doing, you might be able to get it done cheaper elsewhere but you'll need to spend another day without the car which might be a pest.

My tint was easily thrown in for free. When it's all said and done, the rear clear film over the privacy glass is more of a marketing ploy than anything else. It's never worth paying for.

I pickup my Passat Alltrack Wolfsberg on Saturday, asked today fora price on mudflaps and was told $437.33, that's double the most I've ever paid before for mudflaps! Does anyone know of an alternative source? Also do owners think them necessary? Not going to be doing any real offroad, the occasional dirt/gravel road is all.

                      Thanks,
                      Karl

                        Karl,
Wouldn't bother. There are no painted surfaces down low. The areas that mud, dirt, etc. is thrown up on, is either unpainted plastic or satin chrome plated plastic. Nothing much to damage, and any dirt and mud is easily washed off with nothing more than a blast with a pressure washer.

I can confirm that the cheapo ebay mudflaps to suit the standard wagon do not fit without drilling into the trim which I wasn’t prepared to do. I am yet to see any cheap alternatives specifically for the Alltrack.

I took an extended warranty on mine, because my intention was to keep the wolf for a good few years.

need to know...? Your choice of vehicle obviously means your are a handsome, intelligent gentleman who has impeccable taste.
