Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

Anybody noticing that the drivers seat doesn't go back to its memory setting every time and it migrates back a bit? About every three days I have to reset it as I get further away from the pedals like it's slipping, or I'm getting shorterIt just doesn't return to the correct place each time after you get in and after the moves. I am the only driver so I'd turn off the easy in and out function if I could because I don't really need the seat moving every time I get in and out but you can't.

In the persoalise menu under car settings. Manualy either code both the keys to one driver profile or to set them to different profiles. If you change keys then it will move the searea to whomever the profile is assigned too. There is also a lazy exit function you can add using vcds. It's fully moves the seat back when the vehicle stops.

Just picked up our 206TSi earlier in the week. Some really nice features that I'm still discovering over our old MY12.5 TDi (let alone the extra performance). A few places where it's gone backwards too, but overwhelmingly a definite upgrade.
Does anyone know if there is any way to program the coasting function into the Individual driving mode? I note that the manual says Coasting is only available in Eco mode - not likely to spend much time in Eco.Last edited by CaseySP; 03-03-2017, 09:07 PM.sigpic

Why wouldn't you want to? I'm not a fiddler - once I have determined the ideal settings (for me) I would generally leave it at that and not ever switch again.
So Individual settings should be just for that. For me Eco mode just doesn't cut it for my normal driving style.sigpic

Got a rude shock yesterday when my RACV comprehensive insurance renewal notice arrived for my 206TSI sedan at $1,247.31 per annum.
Last year my 140TDI Highline with R-Line Pack and Luxury Pack totaled $840.86 per annum and it would pretty much be the same amount this year.
What gives? Appealing as the 206TSI is there's just no way it's a true performance car that would warrant such a steep hike in insurance premiums.

I had a chat to RACV today and they are willing to drop down from $1,247.31 to $1,081.60. Catch is excess goes up from $625 to $750 and I forego the windscreen option. Better, but ....
I've done some extensive research online and prices fluctuate wildly for comprehensive car insurance. The cheapest are Budget Direct and Ozicare at $687 (with $800 excess) and the most expensive is Coles at $2,990 (with $850 excess). As mentioned by 206Harvard, most of the cheapest options seem to be underwritten by Auto & General Insurance.

You can't crash a house into a Volkswagen Passat but you can crash a Passat into a house. Worked in insurance many years ago and it's ticked a few of the boxes that get its points up. Reasonably high purchase price, a lot of good bits that are expensive to replace (think about the headlights and sensors in the bumper) plenty of power ect. Possibly tarnished by other hi po all wheel drive cars with similar on paper numbers.

I am in Sydney, 27 y.o this year, full license, never had any accident and it costs me $1400 (inc NCD protection, windscreen and hire) with excess of $2000 to insure a 132tsi comf passat (agreed value 43k) WHAT THE HECK?
