Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Fuel Gauge intermittently reading zero when starting the car

Not sure if anyone had experience with this and looking for some remedy...

2017 206TSI with the digital instrument

The fuel gauge reads ZERO on starting the car intermittently (happened twice) with alarms and bells going off and satnav suggesting nearest fuel station. It almost immediately fixed itself when driving off, and it will be fine for a few days. And then, it happens again.

Problem is the workshop will unlikely to replicate the problem and I'll be wasting time bringing it in.

    Any suggestions?

Film it with your mobile phone to show the service dept. Issue will likely be a faulty fuel level sender unit or perhaps your digital screen is faulty.
