LED (matrix) headlights, like that on VW, will mask more accurately.
on my Superb, being bi-xenon, uses rollers and shutters to do the masking - hence not as "flexible" as those used in the VW stable.
Keep an eye on the high temperatures using high beams at lower speed. I got some high temperature errors when using DLA in dark city roads. Probably too busy for the beams to high low left right. Then, I turn to use DLA when it’s nice long dark high speed roads. The LEDs has some specific modes too so it illuminates quite well generally for example city, high way and rain modes.
I have mine coded supposedly correctly for High Beam Assist but am somewhat disappointed as all it does is drop high beam into dip mode with traffic oncoming and go back to high afterwards.
When the lights come on in the garage they do the dance but do NOT put the two patches up high like in the Skoda video, so therefore dont do the blackout like it does. Mine dip on both sides

Have you tried the linked instructions in the first post? I'd be interested to see if you have some success.
I've tried to compare instructions from various forums, all slightly different, all fail. I'm in the 4B missing parameter set bucket kamold and dArK5HaD0w mentioned I think!

No because I wonder why this is being discussed in a PASSAT forum when we have TIGUANS. Also I only have an OBDEleven , not a vcds. It seems the instructions are for a Passat which is may be not the same as the Tiguan and my dealers workshop manager did say our lights do not have the capacity to do that.

It seemed like the most mature thread on the topic. If you read back through the pages in this thread there are a couple of people with Mk2 Tiguans that have successfully activated it. The Tiguan Allspace in AU comes stock with DLA activated (my brother just bought one). From reading other threads I have the "mid" beam LED lights which are DLA capable.
I have been doing all the coding with OBD Eleven, it can see the required modules and do the required changes. The only thing it can't do is upload a parameter set which some users have said may be required. You'll need the pro version to access long coding.

As I mentioned earlier - the Superb has Bi-xenons, not LEDs like VW.
The xenon bulb is always on. It's the rollers n shutters that do the high beam masking trickery.
So no possible heating issues that u describe off.
With VW, it's the matrix LEDs that do the trickery.

So I had some success tonight. I managed to get DLA activated albeit with 3 errors. I had to omit some of the extra coding on page 2 of the instructions, specifically "byte 8 - binary 03". That prevented me from running the basic settings on the headlights.
Check left low beam light - cycling the ignition cleared this
Check right low beam light - cycling the ignition cleared this
AFS (cornering light) error - unable to clear this one. Will need to research more.
Also I can confirm that the LED light "startup dance" is different with DLA activated. You can clearly see it has two square blocks. I saw it after acknowledging the basic settings and clearing the headlight "no basic settings" fault in 4B.
Ok, tonight we have a complete success. I've managed to get it all activated with no errors!!

My 4B coding below, note I already had HBA activated. That includes Central Electrics 09 Byte 2 bits 0 & 1 enabled. Not sure if that would make a difference or not.
Follow the initial linked instructions until you get to module 4B.
My module 4B value: 000000050900084E07104F050A000000000000000000000000 0000000000
Run basic headlight settings then acknowledge, clear the headlight basic setting fault in 4B - noticed the DLA headlight dance at this point.
After that, I went into the Discover Pro, Menu > Vehicle > Factory Defaults > Lights. Then I soft reset the MIB. Turned the ignition off, turned it back on, started the engine, all working.
Something to note is the cornering lights, despite not showing an error, didn't work until I did the above steps.
I'll get out on the road tonight and give it a whirl.
I can follow most of that except im unsure how to run basic settings and acknowledge them
I changed the adaptation to AFS,FLA Fernlicht(GLW,MDF) and it did the correct dance, down up flick then out and left the dark patch in the middle then full high beam
But then when i pushed the stalk forward I got an HBA error and the A didnt come up in the headlight assist icon.
Also a soft reset is just turn it off and on again without holding it down till it comes back on?????
My headlight coding was in module 4B but I believe it's the same as 55.
Before you attempt to run basic settings you should try to clear the headlight basic settings fault in module 55. In OBD Eleven when you're in control unit 55, before you go into long coding you'll see a list of available options (history, adaptions, long coding etc). In that list you'll see basic settings. Tap that menu and you'll see another list. Pick "headlight basic settings" tap and hold the green tick then go back into the previous menu. Select "acknowledge basic settings". After this go back into faults and clear the headlight basic settings fault.
Yep - soft reset is holding down the power button on your head unit until it powers back up.

Hey, I know this is on a Tig but I managed to get it working on the Passat too. The downside is that we all think it still required further programming to work properly, not just module parameter changes, but actual programming.
I could get it to do all the stuff, except it wouldn't do the DLA style dance at start-up, just the normal one. It was also a bit slow to react to oncoming cars and cars from behind. It did it, but it was slow. I came to the conclusion that it wasn't quite working as it should and reverted it as I didn't want to blind someone in traffic. I understand from previous posts that the Tigs and some newer cars might already have this programming present, if it doesn't then you might want to look into getting it put in place before using it.
Happy to share my findings in detail over a PM, otherwise, I too am in Perth and have VCDS if you want to try some different things.
