Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 2006 Passat 3C Sedan diesel Climatronic issue

Hello all, this is my second post and the first question is how do I find my previous post after 3 weeks?
Now, I bought a passat diesel with a transmission fault. I have resolved the issue but apparently my climatronic system is not working. I went through the first auto-scan results before trans fix it was ok, but now zero.
the other weird thing is If I plug in a CC module it works but not properly. I have tried 4 other modules but non of them work. I have reason to believe I disturbed something. The unfortunate thing is I cannot find the pinout for my original 3 dial controller. I tried eWin but the module shown is the later one which is the cc one.
Can my CC climatronic module be coded or some adaptation be done for full functionality?
Or is there a procedure that I'm missing with my original module?

Can you be more specific? What do you mean by 'it works but not properly?'
After replacing climatronics panel or AC compressor you need to run the compressor first run in and flap motor end stop adaptations which can be done using VCDS basic settings in climatronics.
If you swap to a newer panel it will work but will forget the settings unless you cut and swap pins 16 and 20 on connector block C.

It has a fault code saying the air quality sensor is either open circuit or short to ground.
and the other issue is it only blows air from the outer vents and even if it's on extreme cold on the dials there's not much cooling going on.
I figured there wpould be minor differences but I just couldn't figureout where.
I will try the pin swap later this afternoon. Thanks mate.

Air quality sensor can be removed from coding if it is not installed.

This is getting exciting!! I have never done real stuff with my VCDS software. Where do I find the proceedures for the adaptation and removal of air quality sensor? I think I will just cough a few times so I can be sent home!!!

Air quality sensor is in coding for 08 Climatronics.
Just check through the coding bytes its not long.
Compressor run in and flap motor end stops are under basic settings for 08 Climatronics.

👏🏾👏🏾 You’re a legend. When you told me to swap pins I realised that I was missing permanent positive. I fixed that so I put back the original instead. Saving the other one for a wagon.
