Balance shaft hex key question

Hi all,

I'm just wondering if you can replace the balance shaft hex key in situ. I've droped the sump and it seems all I need to to is remove the circlip, pull the old hex key and insert the new one with a new circlip. There seems to be enough room and it saves alot of messing about.

Indeed is possible, but main issue is not hex key itself wearing but the socket inside balance shaft.
