Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • B7 125TDI Passat budget CAI for under $60

I always wanted a CAI for the Passat but no off-the-shelf intake that would fit, plenty around for the Mk5/6 Golf, the price for a intake ranging from $300-$600, so I got creative over the last few days, all for under $60!

Generic carbon intake off eBay for $33 shipped, 3" silicone couplings from SCA for $22, Bunnings stormwater downpipe $2.50, some household plastics and araldite glue. I don't care how it looks as long as it works, I know the white doesn't match the engine bay.

Hi 9090GO, do you still have the top cover of the original intake with all its clips in place and are you interested in parting with it?

I am interested in this as well what sort of performance change has it had, has it not increased your fuel usage though??
