    Steve,

Congrats and the car looks great! Thanks for the posting the pics.

Just went and had a look at one in the flesh at a dealer and it looks even better! Had a sit in the drivers seat and those hugging seats are excellent.

I will take some pics and post em up after her first wash on the weekend, though mine is the same as Steve's

Might wait until the windows are tinted @ 15% and then put up a couple of pics.
Confirmed Global Warming Sceptic. No Longer a VW Owner -Loving my new 2011 Range Rover Sport - bought as VW unable to provide info on the new Toureg despite it being released overseas 12 mths ago. 2008 R36 Wagon, 2006 GTI and 2004 R32 - Gone. Sorry VW, you make great cars but until you improve your customers' experiences you will lose customers

Is there any tinting on the car as it ships? I can't recall being offered any additional tinting (in fact, the list of extras was very short).

only the factory UV tints. 15% aftermarket tint is the way to go. if you need a good tinter in sydney his name is rob salvia who owns hunters hill window tinting, hes the only person id trust to tint any of my cars. 0418464185.

SGIC wanted $1500, Volkswagen Insurance (underwritten by Allianz I think) wanted $1600 but had 3 year new-for-old replacement rather than 2, and the excess was less, too. Ryno said I wasn't enthusiastic enough, despite our family owning 3 VW's/Audi's and a history of performance cars dating back 40 years.Dad even built one on the lounge room floor! I didn't bother with Shannons because I was too slack. I'm pretty happy with what we got and what we're paying, though.
Sounds around the mark: I have been quoted $1544 incl stamp duty & gst for my R36 sedan: that is through CGU who cover my business insurance as well. Good driving history probably helps...

ive managed about 11 - 12l /100km for the first tank but i was running the engine in so not really driving smoothly, up and done the revs loading the engine. Had a few trips on the M2 though that averaged under 9L/100Km.

                          Well.... it could be better.

It's better than my VY Commodore was. Unfortunately, it makes a far better noise and I keep putting the foot down to hear it...

We picked it up with about 3/4 a tank and did 370km on that, not babying it but not going too hard either. Think up hills in 6th gear, second gear to 6000rpm, etc. Not easy but not too hard.

I filled her up with 62 litres of BP Ultimate the other day and it's done about 90km to about 1/5th a tank.

I reckon that's acceptable for purely city driving. It gets about 2km of freeway driving a day, but that includes merging with a pack of absolute idiots on the road who don't know how to drive.
