  • DSG noise...

    Hi all

I'm hearing a noticeable clunking noise when my DSG changes down from 3rd to 2nd.

Am I hearing an expensive mechatronics slowly failing?

I had the full 60k service about 8 months ago, nothing unusual spotted...

What are the thoughts out there?

Ive driven quite a few R36's this year that "clunk" when dropping down gears..especially 1.2 and 3...appears quite normal....metallic clunk....VDUB..

It's funny, it doesn't seem to do it if I downshift manually

I only hear it with the windows down and when slowing down for lights etc.

A lot of DSG issues aren't as pronounced when using manual mode.

FYI mine clunks when changing down in D too, more noticeable during slow stop start traffic.
