Front Light Assist and Dynamic Light Assist

i have a 2013 118tsi and have tried to have hid xenon lights fitted by an auto elec and the whole procedure was a complete disaster resulting in the upgrade not working and having to go back to what the car came with, but have since fitted higher output halogen globes.
would your FLA system work on my model??

unfortunately not. you don't have factory bi xenon hence you don't have driver assistance package and this is a pre requisite as you need the camera mounted behind the rear view mirror.

Managed to test out high beam assist / fla tonight.. it works pretty well. detected cars very well in dark roads and better lit roads such as motorways. very impressed.

Thanks for all your comments on this Booba. I did not ask the dealer as mentioned in a post above as Booba had it covered.

Our new Passat has the visibility package with the dynamic bixenon headlights. The low and high beam comes out of the same light. There is an adjacent light and so far I have not been able to turn it on. What is this light? I've tried the auto position as well as the manual headlight switch position.
Also, how much should the lights turn when going around a corner?

You can see the movement range when they do their self test when you first start the car. The actual behaviour in normal operation will be different (they won't both go outwards at the same time, for example), but at least you can see how far out they can go.

I have factory xenons with assistance options. I'm a bit confused with which state controller a5 needs to be programmed for byte 2 to enable dynamic light assist. Could you please explain the coding for light assist.

You can see the movement range when they do their self test when you first start the car. The actual behaviour in normal operation will be different (they won't both go outwards at the same time, for example), but at least you can see how far out they can go.

If I remember correctly maximum is 15 degrees of turn and if you are doing under 15kph your corner lights should come on as well.

I was turning in a car park tonight and my friend was walking towards the front of the car. He said you have one side light out.

Was turning left and the left cornering light was on. Car has LED DRLS so wouldn't be a side light. LOL

If you turn the car on with heads on Auto in a dark garage they do the leveling etc trick. Mine did it tonight to show the friend all the bits.

Go into controller a5 coding.

Go ti Byte two ensure there is a tick box on bit 0 and there isn't a tick box on bit 1. The resultant value of this byte should be 01. The starting byte should have 00 so bit 1 shouldn't be ticked anyway.

Hi Booba,

It is good to see that you have worked out the high beam assist coding for the Passat. I have a CC with the driver assistance package and would also like to enable High beam assist. I purchased a Vagcom from Rosstech in the hope the codes may have been the same or similar. On my first attempt I succeeded in bringing up an error code, "cornering light failure" Took an hour of research before I found the solution.
Do you use the long code helper in Vagcom?
I am an absolute newbie when it comes to this any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Guys
I too is interested in getting the high beam assist. I have in my passat the factory HID which came with the Visibility package and as well as the camera above the rearview mirror for lane assist perhaps. My car also has active cruise control if that helps.
Will the following options enable my car to get this high beam assist? If so I am happy to pay for your time in sydney to code it for me please?
