Passat Alltrack availability in Australia?

Which from German review threads is actually a good thing: sturdy, yet doesn't get as hot as leather (or feel as cold in winter if seat heaters aren't on). The sports seats are supposedly also better if you're tall with long legs.

However, I don't want 18" wheels!

Fully agreed! VW cut the cost by replacing Nappa with Vienna so they can price it under $50k, and restricted Nappa to a stupid package that costs a fortune!

Now I'm tossing between standard Passat and Alltrack. I don't really go off road that much, but my wife likes the raised height. But is it worth the extra $1800 with less quality leather?

Whoa, that 8 month wait for delivery on special orders is quite a killer - will need to get actively convincing my wife now.

Has anyone been able to find anything how useful the range of suspension options are? I don't really want to spend more than I usefully need too, and the reviews tend to concentrate on the high-end options.

Wood trim is not mentioned so I assume it's not available, but beige is available tho. Just found another cheap stuff, whilst the standard Passat TDI gets real aluminum insert, you get "Titanium Silver decorative insert", which is another name for plastic! I thought it didn't feel like aluminum and I was right! Well, it won't be a deal breaker though.......

The other thing they went cheap is the spare tyre. In Alltrack it's temporary spare.

That's not an Alltrack. it says it already "VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT 125TDI DSG HIGHLINE"! Highline is the name given for standard wagon. Photos are for illustrative purposes only, the dealer will tell you.

The brochure says "speed rated", I assume it implies temporary spare with speed limitation.

Yeah, saw that when I downloaded. "Speed limitation" could also mean that the it's just that the tyre (most likely a steel 16") is U or V speed rating rather than W (or whatever). My Scout has a steel 16" spare wheel with a standard tyre, that I assume has a lower speed rating than the 17" on my alloys.

According to the brochure (which is downloadable) It is a steel wheel with a 215 width tyre against the wider tyres on the car so will probably be a narrower rim with a lower speed rating

The one in the link appears to have an Alltrack pictured but the specs are for a Highline.

2 things are different in the Alltrack steel spare and no lock nuts on wheels (according to the brochure)

Also doesnt mention it being 4 Motion

Yeah, I wasn't too sure what it really means. But compare to the standard Passat brochure, it simply use the term "Fully size spare on alloy". So if Alltrack has full size, why can't it simply say "Full size on steel"?

Probably as I said above it has a narrower tyre so may also have a narrower rim (seems logical ) and may be just a new name for a spacesaver..

Someone will doubtless look when they buy one and let us know

probably about 700 rego, 2995 "dealer delivery" aka car wash and drive to to the delivery bay. stamp duty.

If its drive away that should be the price inclusive of everything or its not drive away price
