Aaarrrggghhh! 1800kg?! The hell? What *is* it with those morons to cut 400kg of towing capacity? Seriously? Hello?! Germany: Alps! Australia: uhm... uhm, OK we got this piddly hill called Mt Kosciuszko. I can drive up Mt Buller and prolly never exceed 8% incline. Even in the Alps there's not that many spots.

Well that at least makes me happy. Mostly - some things are put into packages where I want one feature and would skip the rest, they must have learned that from Foxtel.Originally posted by Amalgam View PostOptions for the Alltrack comprise metallic paint ($700), the Park Assist 2 self-parking system ($900), three-mode Adaptive Chassis Control $1650, a sunroof ($2000), Adaptive Cruise Control with Front Assist and City Emergency Brake ($2000) and a $2800 Sport Package comprising 18-inch alloy wheels, Nappa leather, sports front seats and gearshift paddles.
There is also a Driver Assistance and Visibility Package, which for $3300 includes Lane Assist lane departure warning system, Side Assist blind spot detection, LED tail-lights, electrically adjustable front seats with three-position memory for the driver and bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic cornering lights.
Still, with the options I want I'm still notably under $60K, even assuming a standard no-option drive-away of 50 grand. That's before fleet discount and/or haggling.
Though I don't see a towbar at all - weren't they finally going to get a clue and allow the retractable VW built-in towbar? Dimly remember someone posting that some months back. Yeah, I know, things change. But I don't want a locally installed one! No yob mechanic touches my preciousssss! I still have those horror images that somebody on the forum posted in mind.

Yeah, after my Scout experience a factory towbar is pretty much an essential - how could this be left out when that are actually marketign it for its towing capability?Originally posted by Marakai View PostThough I don't see a towbar at all - weren't they finally going to get a clue and allow the retractable VW built-in towbar? Not pleased that dynaudio seems to be off the list, and I'll have to work out whethet the suspensino options are worthwhile after road tests. Roll on the new year!Brilliant Silver Octavia Scout 2010

Had a sticky beak at the Wangara yard this morning.... they had a dark grey and a silver one still in plastic so must have just got them in the last day or so.
throughts... not as high as I would have expected and the plastic cladding on the wheel arches remind me of the holden adventra wagons.
