Volkswagen Australia has a range of new passenger and commercial Volkswagen cars and SUVs. Build your own, request a brochure and find a dealer online today!

Finally, a brief mention on the VW website.

Pity there's no information and the "more" link is broken!

I WIN I WIN I WIN I WIN!!!! 350nm!!!! read it and weep losers!

                Pre-eminent Power
Get a firm grip on the most powerful production Passat ever built, with a sprint time of 1-100 in 5.6 seconds for the sedan and 5.8 seconds for the wagon. The 3.6 litre, naturally aspirated V6 engine pumps out an impressive 220kW of power, enabling a robust 350Nm of torque. Channelling all that power, the latest 4MOTION all wheel drive system ensures your maximum stability and cornering control at all times.

                  How did you find that?

That's a bit disappointing, but oh well. I'm over it

This, on the other hand, is good news:

he Passat R36 sedan starts at $64,990 and the Passat R36 wagon starts at $66,990 (1) and will be in dealerships from the third quarter of 2008. Pre orders can be taken now.
The contract I have here says $71990 for the wagon... hello, $5000

                  Still no specification sheet though

curses, looks like you got a free ride in the 2.slow, lucky you

Hmnn pricing doesn't sound bad actually, pretty reasonable if you ask me... Might pick up one of these in DSG for my parents in 5-6 years

                    Good one mischa!

Don't worry, I'll be there too as well at some stage. I'll try to get as many photos as I can before my crappy camera drains its' batteries. I'll probably spend most of the time loitering around the Ferrari stand though.
Can't wait until the R36s' start to get delivered and we can start to here some feedback.

Can any of you guys who are going to see it before me find out if there is a "flapper" similar to that on the R32?

I don't know how you'd crawl under the car without being kicked out though

Hi everyone, I've had one of these on order since mid last year so I'm glad it's all official finally.
Very dissapointed with the date though as my dealer told me I'd have it mid-april...

In any case, for those wanting a sound byte VW Individual has it on their website.

Go through the intro, click R36 preview, watch the commercial and click the sound bytes.
Doesn't sound anything like a R32, definately a lot meaner. Along with the whining DSG it sounds almost like a blown 8
