Great ... Was starting to get 'buyers remorse' prior to having it delivered !

Just to relax many Golf and Passat owners, it is only Piezo PD injector made by Siemens, so not every 103TDI Golf and Passat. Easiest way to check if you have Piezo PD injectors or electromechanical PD injector is to check the brochure that you got from the dealer before you bought a car. On one of the back pages where engine data are listed you could read Piezo PD injection or PD injection or Common Rail injection.

Same problem as everyone on this forum.

We had just filled the tank with Coles/Shell Diesel. I haven't asked the previous owner what fuel he had used, but I did wonder if the crap I bought from Coles was the cause of all of the problems.

Has anyone else had this happen after filling up with Coles/Shell Diesel?

I worked for Shell in a previous life, and they provide an excellent product. Don't blame the fuel, I think we all know this is a fault with the injectors/wiring.

Update...

Got a call from Chris at Bundy VW today...

Thankfully he has advised me that VW have approved Goodwill to R&R all remaining 3 injectors and will be trying to organise delivery of the car to Gladstone once repaired.

Injectors have to come from Sydney and are now enroute. He believes that the car should be ready by next Wednesday or Thursday.

I have asked him to find out about the replacement injectors and whether/not they are an improved model. I will be sure to post the answer to this question here and in detail.

Things are looking up - tis Friday, tomorrow is Saturday, I'm not working and my car is getting fixed!

Maybe even provide the part numbers that are on the invoice when you pick it up.

Fuel not the issue with the injector fault. Common PD unit injector fault, shame it shuts the car down, done a few now, all of which i changed the loom too. Im looking at buying an 07 Pd wagon and it flagged an injector fault with only weeks out of warranty, VW dont want a bar. Doesnt faze me really as ill fix it anyway but poor show if you have to take it to be repaired. Ive done a couple of A3s now too. I cant comment if the injectors have been upgraded as such as the part number is exactly the same. Normally the part number changes suffix. Having said all of this i service a few up the coast on 2 have reached around 160ks and all ive done is routine services , DSG service and cam belts, no injector faults.

Update...

Car is fixed and I have made arrangements to pick up the car on Saturday morning.

I will post a reply with the details alluded to above sometime this weekend.

Update...

Picked up the car from Bundy on Saturday morning - a huge thanks to Geoff Simons for all his help and assistance and for coming in on a Saturday to pick me up and talk me though it. I can highly reccommend Bundaberg VW - very professional, helpful and approachable group.

So the vehicle now has 4 new injectors and the wiring loom replaced.

Drove perfectly well from Bundaberg to 1770 yesterday and 1770 to Gladstone today.

Geoff advised me that the replacement injectors are indeed a revised model, as is the wiring loom. Hopefully this means that the fault will not reoccur. Has anyone heard of / know of one of these Siemens Injector Diesels having the injectors replaced and going on to do some huge amount of miles worry free?

I only know that there are a few Golf MK5 1.9 PD TDI (not the Piezo PD) with high mileage in Czech republic, one I know has done 450,000 km no repairs to the engine, original injectors - serviced every 10,000km.
