    They're very advan-esque.

I've ordered Vmr wheels through Andrew @ redline before.
Shipping was reasonable and communications were great.

Andrew is likely to be the person who will answer your email.
Here's a link to some customer feedback on golfmkv.com:
I ordered the VF engineering short ram intake for my mkv 2.0t from Andrew @ Redline Motorworks. Great product and Great service. Very quick response with questions and with shipment of order. Lets you know the day it is shipped out and provides tracking number. Do business with this company and...

you can also buy straight from vmr - they are the people who put up the first thread I linked to with these particular wheels... Contact details are in his sig on that site I believe.

Just back to the clearance issue again. from my rough measurements you could go as much as 25mm wider on the outside before you need to worry about rolling guards. if concerned aim for 15-20mm to play it safe.

I doubt VMR would specify a rim size for a passat if it meant you had to do crazy amount of body work to get it to fit without scrubbing

I have the VMR V710 in gunmetal in a 19".

they are awesome (IMO) much better than the standard 18's (too small for this vehicle).
Today an identical black R36 wagon - bog standard - parked next to me in Keperra so I got to compare side by side and (IMO) no contest.
I flogged the factory rims on "the bay" as they would just sit sround gathering dust so a dubber 's getting good use out of them.

FWIW I bought them from PYSpeed (although I would buy them direct from Velocity as it was a sh*tfight to get them here) and, against recommendation, I opted for a 35 offset. It looks much tougher and sits the wheels out at the guards (occassional rub on very rough potholes but in general it's fine) your only other option is 45 and it looks too narrow (like the factory wheels, too far in the guard)

The gunmetal is a bit too light for me with the black so I will be getting them painted probably extremely dark charcoal (black on black shrinks wheels) and match the front (all sacrilege I'm sure to those of you who like everything factory but, what the heck)

            cheers

EXACTLY!!! Reps are just CRAP and often not built very well... I've seen some catostrophic failures of reps.

The 1st wheels you listed are reps. I was just trying to offer some different wheels for the masses. I have owned plenty sets of reps that have seen plenty of track time on high Hp Vw,Audi,Porsche with no problems. Not many Vw enthusiasts want to pay big $$ for wheels. So if reps are CRAP stop debating and spend the money for some good wheels. Happy dubbin

If you want high end wheels talk to Chris@AMGAustralia thats who i went through for my HRE's

before i bought the Lambo wheels i got a quote on a set of CH in black 19x8,5 and they were just under 1k per wheel so Reps at half the price (if they are a good one) might not be a bad option.,

Hey Rocket why are you bothering with a wheel upgrade is it for looks only

It is common knowledge that .:R spec wheels (zolders) are quite heavy.
Lighter wheels would allow better performance due to reduction in unsprung weight.
