  • R36 Wheel Options

OK... I'm having a bit of trouble finding a decent range of 19 inch wheels that will fit the R36 without modifing the car or the wheel.

I'm after something like this - must be black, charcoal for the most part. Here's the sort of things I'm liking and that I'd like to see on my R36.

    or

Not sure about the red lip. I think the polished lip will set off the wheels nicely with the chrome strips on the car but still make it look more aggressive but not a fan of the polished centre - prefer it black.

Can someone confirm the fitment on the R36? Is it 5x112 with +45 offset?

Don't mind the black/machine finished ones. I think they'd look the business.

I looked at my spare, and it is marked "8J18H2" and "ET44". So I guess the offset is 44mm. (Google tells me: Wheels are usually stamped with their offset using the German prefix "ET", meaning "Einpresstiefe" or, literally, "insertion depth". An example would be "ET45" for a 45mm offset)

As for the PCD - sorry, don't know.

              PCD is standard passat 5x112
              offset is Et44

just remember that if you go for a wider rim, you may develop clearence issues with et44.

But everything points to 5 x 112 with a centre of 57 mm diameter, eg .....

Spend the cash and get these

6k for rims only in 18inch.

Or these look awesome as well.

Failing that what about painting your current rims darker.

I know a guy... He did my stock Clubby rims. $150 cash per rim. He comes and puts your car on stands, takes the wheels away and returns them 48hrs later.

                      End result...

The alternative is a smash repairer / paint shop but they will probably cost more and take longer (this is Canberra after all).

PM me if you want the details for the guy that did my Clubsport.

I have considered that option for the R36 but I think I also want a more agressive style of wheel. Decisions, decisions....

As for the BBS - don't like the style.

Shadow chrome would look ace on a grey car.

Have to agree. The black rims look great on the Clubsport!

                            Will your mate do shadow-chroming?

Pretty sure he'll do any colour you want. The price I quoted was for matte black and I paid him cash. Shaddow chrome will likely cost more. If I were going for a nice dark shaddow chrome gloss finish, I'd speak to a paint & panel shop first.
