Got my car back, and it is a lot better. Not perfect, but all but fixed.

It looks like the software update and the new Mech unit have made everything smoother, like when it was new.

I was told by Barloworld Mascot service that this software will shortly be a recall for DSG's. Don't know if its for all DSG's or just some models.

Yes there was a recall for DSG6 equipped vehicles at the end of 2010, however the recall only occurred in the US because of safety concerns. My Polo which had a DSG7 box even after new software it always "stalled" and very jerky, the stalling is what made me sell it because it put myself and passengers in dangerous scenarios. Anyway glad to hear its fixed, from what I've seen the DSG6 is much more reliable and just an overall better gearbox than the newer DSG7.
