Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

What sort of issues have you had with it? Also is it a diesel or v6? Always interested to hear of issues with these cars

Retrofitting Dynaudio question
Mines a TDI also, I had the same issue with reverse, use to randomly clunk 5 times and would see a error on the dash and car would stay in neutral. Issue was worn Dsg clutches, I usually drive the car hard so wasn't too surprised but did expect it to at least hit 200k before that issue.
It was cheaper and a better option to replace the Dsg all together, sourced a low km one from a GTD and now I have launch control also. Ecu is tuned to match. Mines a 2009 and the Dsg is a 2011, supposedly VW revised the clutch material around 2010, possibly due to them wearing a littler earlier then expected.
That's the only issue I've had with mine, I've heard the trunk lid wiring is common to fail but have a spare harness ready to go... The blown speakers wouldn't of been fun!Last edited by rjt86; 26-10-2016, 09:36 PM.

Oh there was one occasion that a blown 12V outlet fuse ended up with the car in limp mode and me having to take it to the VW service centre to fix. Turns out while I was pulling and checking fuses, I didn't put one back in its original position, causing crazy issues with the motor in limp mode, can't get it past 2500rpm. Thanks VW, a few hundred bucks to replace a blown fuse and put back a misplaced fuse.
To this day, I have NO IDEA why VW doesn't put a simple fuse diagram somewhere (manual? Fuse cover?) that shows position and function of fuses??? The ones I can find online have completely different layouts to what's in the vehicle.
Apart from that, she still runs like a dream. Still getting mid - high 5s in L/100km in mixed city/freeway driving, and mid - high 4s country @ 105 - 110km/h. Doesn't use any oil or coolant. All features, electronics, gizmos and other doohickeys work like new. Even still looks and smells new inside. LOL.
I would love to keep it, but I don't have the long term space for it.Last edited by Eaglen00b; 27-10-2016, 05:24 PM.

Hi guys - I hope you don't mind me chiming in. I have just read all your thread. I'm very impressed. I'm a newbie to this site and have just purchased a 2012 3.6 and I love it!! It has 36k on the clock and is mint - the only extra I would like is the Dynaudio option. I live in Brisbane and have found a reputable expert on the Sunshine Coast who will supply and fit a new one for me for about $3700. So I was wondering whether it would be worth while trying to track down a second hand one and ask him to fit it??
Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
Cheers!
Tim.

Welcome Tim.
I sold a full dynaudio kit used for $1200 and that was not including installation which does require some extra wires to be run to the rns to the amp under the passenger seat and then amp to speakers, it's a individual 10ch amp so the fronts require 3 pairs of wires and rear 2 pairs per a door so it's a bit of work.
$3700 is a bit of cash but considering it's installed, a chuck of that amount would be for installation I'm guessing.
Possibly ask him how much installation is and you can get a idea of how much you will save with second hand, but finding a second hand set will be another issue

I have a complete Dynaudio system for my CC, I have managed to get it from Germany after a long search. I'm not going to install it as I have decided to sell my CC (or trade it in) and get a new Passat R 206.
I will let you know next week if I'm going to sell the system.

I know, they could have at least added the Fender system as an option... I dropped my car for a major service last week, and I took a new Passat 132 TSI for a day... It has a Discover Pro head unit, which is really nice, the audio quality is alright, definitely better than the standard audio on the CC or B7, but nothing like premium audio systems that I have heard before...

Retrofit seems like the only option.

Thanks very much for your reply. My apologies for not getting back to you earlier - sorry still trying to work out how to navigate around this site. ( not a comment about the site - definitely a comment about my ability/experience or lack of on these sites). Thanks for the response. Good comment about installation cost - I'll make the enquiry although this guy comes highly recommended so perhaps I should save my sheckles and bight the bullet?? Thanks again for your response.
Tim.

Thanks very much - yes I would be interested if you are thinking of selling. The R206 looks a nice bit of kit.. I always wondered why they didn't name the CC 3.6 an R type Passat?? Please keep in touch if you are interested in selling.
thsnks very much.
cheers!
Tim.
