2022 Touareg R (Hybrid) - news or updates?

Any news or updates on the Aus arrival of the Hybrid Touraeg R? Any real world experience from overseas?

My brother was here this week and he has a Hybrid Touareg About a 2014 model. Seems to run in town on the battery and then fires up the motor somehow for longer trips. He said battery only good for less than 50km at the most

Doesnt have a spare as battery is in its place. Is a Jap import in NZ Is a V6 and he previously had a V10 which crapped itself bigtime.

Spoke to my dealer last week about the Hybrid Touraeg R. Due mid 2023 in very limited numbers. You can place a deposit now to secure 1 of the 1st ones. ~$145K + ORC.

UK spec is pretty similar to what we can expect.

Launch obviously now delayed into 2024.

Does the Q8 E-tron (similar performance but all electric…..) now put some downward price pressure on the Touareg R?
