Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Thanks for the info re:ABT kit, im assuming you've bought the Rear Skirt Set and the Exhaust? Im just looking at the ABT website and most of the kit options look similar to the R-Line stuff anyway? Keen to know which pieces you've got, and what they look like

I havent installed the turbo muffler delete, mainly because im looking at going K04
Have a look at my post, as i got some of the photo of the installed kit. : )

Would you have the diameter/thickness of the stock front and back sway bar vs the HP sway bars you installed??

The stock rear sway bar is whimpy compared to the stock front bar which is half substantial.

It's going to be hard to extract the full value for your mods if you are selling it with your car, however you never know, there might be interest from the right person wanting a low km stage II tig...I know I love mine.

There's some nice quality mods done to your car.

Here's my thoughts. Work out what the going price for your car with the km on it is going to be. Add $3-4k to that for selling it to an enthusiast. It'll probably work out cheaper to sell it complete and is far less hassle than parting it all out. You obviously can't get anything for the software when parted and possibly 50% of the RRP of the parts (minus any labour for returning to stock).

I was lucky when I sold my stage 2+ Tig that an enthusiast bought it and I didn't have to go through the painful exercise of returning to stock.

Unless your lucky enough to sell it to a fellow enthusiast forum member, id say your chances of selling a modified Tiguan on CarSales will severely limit your potential customers. Most people i see driving Tiguans are women or older people so id say those are your target customers.

I returned my Stg 2 Tig back to stock when I sold it. None of the optional bits (not even the wheels) where wanted by the buyer.

Set the ECU tune to stock and locked it in that mode and removed everything else.

Yeah, thanks for the feedback guys.
                          I figured as much.
I'll try a carsales listing and if no interest, then I guess it's a strip and sell.

I wouldn't put it up on carsales until you've stripped it and ready to sell it to the non-enthusiast market.

The people on carsales most likely will be looking for stock cars. You don't want to have a potential buyer see your car advertised as modified one week and then the next week get put back up as stock.

Suggest advertising on here and any other sites that are for car enthusiasts first. Really depends on how much time you have to sell.
