If you're not a happy customer & don't like/want it any more, is there any chance of a refund?

Based in Melbourne. I didn't know there was different turns - I though apr just did the one tune (I have standard, 95 and 9

Regarding refund I'm not sure, when i take it back I'll see - it's been 4-5 weeks and will be 8 weeks before I can get it back there now as I can't drive

I would call the tuner up to make sure they will honour a refund given the timing.

As for other tuners to try, you are in a major city so you will have all the brands at your fingertips. GIAC get good results on the 2.0TSI engine for example. I have the same engine in a Mk6 GTI that im about to have tuned with DNA Tuning who are in Melb.

If you have a misfire and need new coil packs I can get you a set of Audi R8 ones on the next group buy.

Let us know how you get on.

I had a stage 1 custom-code tune done on my tig and it drives great, even in D mode (which is basically all I use unless I'm going up a mountain road and want to keep it in a lower gear, in that case will use S mode), its a little noisier but certainly nothing bad, still a really quiet car. The fan running afterwards is completely normal.

You can hear it sucking more air in when you plant it but as far as driving around town goes its smooth as silk. In fact far less lag than it had stock, takes off straight away when you take off from the lights. Unlike the 6 speed DSG in my skoda octavia VRS which has a slight delay as it engages first when you take your foot off the brake.

What you're saying doesn't sound at all right, I would be seeing if someone can check the error codes through their laptop and see if there's any issues, and then maybe look at a different tune like DNA or custom-code.

                totally agree with you Aztech.

To me, a turbo charged car is suppose to be "loud" but it should be a pleasant one as long as you are not going too far. Personally, even with my K04 it's actually not that loud in my opinion. My uncle was in my car the other day and he thought it was a blue motion version. When you drive normally, to me it's still pretty quiet.

I'd be interested to know more about that sprint booster although i'll wait to see how the DSG tune and air intake go..

My 155 Tig has had the same APR Stage 1 tune and while i dont notice any noise (i also had the tune done day one) i can say i really notice the hesitation/lag.. Although i did come out of a naturally aspirated vehicle, so its hard to know what an acceptable amount of lag is.

Sprint booster does minimise the off-the-line pregnant pause in DSG equipped cars, though penalty is that throttle is a lot "touchier" and harder to modulate when cornering, round-abouts, etc.

Some of the "lag" is in the DSG trying to interpret the input of your right foot. Particularly in "D" it's trying to run the car as economically as possible so will short shift gears and there is a definite hesitation from planting the right foot until gears change and you get up and going. The other lag is the turbo but on a K03 equipped car these spool up pretty quickly. It's not like you're having to wait for 3,500rpm before you get any boost.

To test this theory flick it into "S" and check for the lag. You shouldn't notice any from the DSG now and with the R-line you can hit the gears with the paddles to stop it from changing at 4,000rpm.

My previous NA cars (Honda Accord Euros x 2) were laggy (lack of torque) until 5,500rpm

Had the guys at Harding do the DSG tune combined with the Carbonio intake. Absolutely Brilliant. Drive-ability is now incredible.

Completely agree. I think the DSG tune is a very worthwhile upgrade in terms of how much more driveable it makes the car.
