        Hi All, just an update.

Had the coils replaced just to be sure. No change still jerky idle and hesitation.

I had them check the car again today, went for a drive with mechanic and he did notice the problem. They want to try the PCV valve.

But I do agree, the borascope would be a good idea - anyone got one? I dont want to get charged

Also - I read that thread you posted about the studder/flaps. Sounds familair, but I have a weird idle as well. You can feel the engine shuddering on the steering wheel, but it doesnt always happen, then sometimes its more intense. Even my wife notices it

              Yep
              That's worthy of rectification.

I cant understand that their design would allow for this much carbon build up. Surely as part of normal service, a regular clean through intake manifold should help this problem (like Subaru's upper enginer cleaner).

I'm convinced that VW/Audi/Skoda don't really care about the longevity or service costs of their product beyond the average ownership period for new car buyers and attempt to keep service costs in the first 3 yrs of ownership artificially low by stretchin service periods to a maximum.

                    Update -

I manually cleaned the valves. Hesitation is still there although not as abrupt.

Things that have been replaced / cleaned so far.

                    PCV
                    Spark plugs
                    Coil Packs
                    Intake valves manually cleaned

Not sure what else it could be, maybe just a characteristic of the engine.

I did read on an american forum that the intake runner flappy motor (vacuum driven) can get a bit worn and so doesn't turn the flaps as efficiently when the engine gets older.

If anyone has any further advice / comments please respond.

                    Cheers
                    Wayne

Checked the injectors - they were all good

So annoying as it doesn't show a code at all, but there are a small amount of random misfires at times of acceleration around where it seems the flaps are doing their thing.

What happens when you tie the flaps open with a cable tie?

I've got the same issue with hesitation on a 125TSi but I'm running an APR stage 1 tune. Very noticeable in 3rd gear under heavy acceleration. I've had all the usual service things done, plus had it re-flashed and looked at by APR nobody can find the issue. At about 90,000kms I changed the intake manifold because the arm on the side which controlled the flaps kept popping off (some clip broke). This also didn't resolve the issue.

However running stock, I cannot get any hesitation so would be interested to see what resolves this.
