Hi I haven't installed them yet but just trial fitted to see if they caused any bulb out errors and they didn't. To get around the fog light problem I consulted with baboo and his comments were useful. Both the inner lights have allocation for a fog light holder to be installed. The lights come as LHD form with the fog on the left......BUT.........the hole is simply blocked off on the right so all you need to do is drill a hole large enough to get the holder through and then swap over the bulb holder from the other side.

That's my first step. Once installed I will eventually buy another fog holder light holder from VW and wire it up to the other side, either direct or via a relay as a friend advised it will put less strain on the BCM.

As for the lights, yes I got them from the same place as baboo. They sent me the wrong set first with halogen turn signals but then sent out the right version which is all LED, so I have the other version for sale as they don't seem bothered about me sending it back.

I will post up my pictures once fitted and try to get some good shots showing how they look at night/dusk as LED's always come out too bright in photographs.

With the Hella blackouts, you have to swap over the fog light. It is already located on the right hand side.
Just punch or drill the hole and install.

I never optioned fogs so there is no point swapping them over, i just wanted to have the fault code stop showing up on my dash.

Team_V you can use VCDS to disable the rear fog light, I did that and no fault code.

Does that disable the monitoring or deactivate the fog light altogether?

These are mine fitted. I have modified the right hand side light to accommodate the fog light, and also kept the left side in place so I can wire that up later to give me twin fog lights.

Ok I'll try over this weeked. Being LED they are difficult to capture without looking washed out so I need to get the setting right on my SLR. Phone camera's are simply not set up correctly and too slow to avoid the pulse modulation of the LED's so they can appear off.

Nice work! I really like the restyling lights over the original one and those lights does a great job looking like the new ones.

Some questions: what about the process of installation? Have you done it alone or have you taken the car to a VW dealer? How much for the lights?

                      Cheers.

The lights are on ebay from seller called Winpower and cost around 450USD. They are totally plug and play,no need for professional installation. The housing is red so when you open the tailgate you see a section of red where the fixing bolts go through. I sprayed these sections satin black and now they look OEM. They work as normal and I also swapped around the fog light so it's on the correct side (drivers). Othwse they supply it in LHD form with the fog on the passenger side. For me they really update and old style of light, something I've hated on the Tig. The factory look tail lamp design had effectively been around since 2005/06.

I'm pretty sure front and rear lights on the facelift are different shape so there's no way to make these fit.
