Chinese model has stretched wheelbase by 50mm through the rear doors.

I think these trims should be OK, but I'd be getting 1 set over first before committing to an order of 20.I've been burnt twice with trims from China not fitting so have learnt my lessson now.

I think if these were landed for under $100 a set then you'd get quite a lot more interest than $200 per corner.

Yes they purpose built the LWB version based on feedback received directly from potential customers.

Unfortunately only Yao Ming's family turned up that day, to the focus group!

That's interesting. They build a different vehicle just to suit the Chinese market. If the Chinese market was that great, I'd expected them to make the vehicle to suit them and the rest of the world could just suck eggs.

I noticed the Tiggy flares/trim is quite narrow and clears the side sensors for park assist, unlike the Yeti flares. I liked the look of flares but I cant fit them since the Yei flares would cover the side sensors.

          Happy Days.

Its common that most of the Euro's and some Japanese build lwb models specifically for China. VW did it with the Passat, Audi has A4/A6 versions and BMW introduced 3/5 series variants. Skoda is about to join them with a stretched Yeti. It seems the wealthy Chinese prefer the prestige of a lwb car and being chauffeur driven but what works there doesn't necessarily work elsewhere.

Volkswagen Wheel Arch Extensions - 5N0071681041

From what I can see the item number for the 18 degree AU version is 5N0071681041. Happy to be corrected by anyone prior though.

The best offer I have so far is 280 GBP + 190 postage from Shop4Volkswagon. Sent quote requests to a range, and got responses from mossy.com and ECS tuning, whose postage all blew the budget.

I'm in Canberra, but travel up to Newcastle every 4-6 weeks and we can arrange drop off some where in the middle if that is easier. If you are interested PM me with your details.
Cheapest i found i could get flares:5N0071681041 $578.88US trying to work on group buy price.

I tried a couple of suppliers from Germany, some don't stock and some are dearer.

we just have to keep looking I guess

Has anyone considered the arch extensions from Caractere or ABT? There are much wider and once painted give the impression or rolled arches like you get on the Audi models. This Tig looks awesome but I'm guessing it's mega bucks to achieve that look!

A bit too out there for me, plus with those wide arches, you'll need lower offset wheels or adding spacers to fill out the guards again.

I agree, too much transformers for me.
Don't think wife would be happy with me if I spent that much on plastic. Plus, my car is not a show car.

I may be intrested depending on price.

There was a guy on a forum I was reading (not sure if it was here) who said they were able to get parts from a friend that worked at VW.

I asked about these flares and was suppose to get a response early this year. I will follow him up if they consolidate with other goods to Aus it may take away the expensive shipping???

                            Sorry Gents for the delay.

So thanks to the previous post re: VAT discount, which brings it down to $234 GBP + 190 postage, totalling 424 GBP or ~$700 AUD. No discount for group buy of around 5, so it looks like this might be dead in the water unfortunately.

Suffolk, if you ever progress the $580 delivered U.S option, let me know for sure!

                              Hi Guys,

I dug up the email re these and it is a guy on this forum (Paul 'pkuaso')

                              See below his response:

"Depending on the number of people interested in this kit, I will be able to work out the cost for each set but shipping will be something I'd need to get back to you as I need to see how much the freight costs will be. If you have an indication on the number of interested parties, I'll be able to give you the cost within the next couple of days."

So I suppose it again come to the chicken and the egg question who is intrested? I know cost will play a part but if we have say 5ppl keen we can base it on that?

                              Let me know.

As long as the kit is a good quality one and fits well, I'm in if the cost is reasonable.
