  • Group Buy EOI on Volkswagen Wheel Arch Extensions

    Hey Tig.forum readers,

I'm looking on ordering the Volkswagen Wheel Arch Extensions for the Tig. and seeing if anyone else wants to jump in on the action, and maybe get a group discount.

Volkswagen Wheel Arch Extensions - 5N0071681041

From what I can see the item number for the 18 degree AU version is 5N0071681041. Happy to be corrected by anyone prior though.

The best offer I have so far is 280 GBP + 190 postage from Shop4Volkswagon. Sent quote requests to a range, and got responses from mossy.com and ECS tuning, whose postage all blew the budget.

I'm in Canberra, but travel up to Newcastle every 4-6 weeks and we can arrange drop off some where in the middle if that is easier. If you are interested PM me with your details.

There was a group buy that didn't end up happening a little while back:

They were looking to get the same kit, however freight cost was the killer.

If you want to make it fly I'd be asking for prices on economy/sea freight.

That ... and also the fact that each wheel would take at least 1 hr to fit, with the possibility of broken clips in wheel arch once removed.

so yep as Suffolk mentioned 470 GBP is about 700 AUD. This is pre-group discount. Didn't check any of through Asian sites sorry, I was keen on getting genuine gear, unless this is possible from albiba also?

Ah fellas, just remember to take 20% VAT off the 280 GBP.

Don't need any special haggling skills for that and hopefully that wasn't the group buy discount you're talking about.

Looks like cost of shipping has gone up as well since I last got the quote:

Saw some on Alibaba, but does not seem to match the part numbers. Maybe China VW Tiguans differ slightly..

Tiguan Wheel Arch - Buy Wheel Arch Product on Alibaba.com

They list this as the part numbers:

                    Specifications

                    wheel arch
                    be suitable for VW tiguan
                    OEM:
                    5N0854731A
                    5N0854732A
                    5N7854819
                    5N7854820

Prob a group buy thing too, as minimum order is 20 pieces. Wouldn't be surprised if they are like $50-70 a set ..
                    Cheers, Abuthen.

They look like the normal ones ... and not the flares.

Besides Chinese Tigs have a longer wheel base.

So not sure if that stuffs up the rear wheel and arch somehow.

Sorry but these are not flares, they are the ones on your Tiguan already.

I dont know about the Tiggy but I can't put flares on my Yeti because they cover the side park assist sensors. Fine without park assist.

                          Happy Days.
