I haven't priced up an IC yet, but have got a price for a custom built 3" DP with high flow cat. Local exhaust shop had a look at it the other week and it will take 2 days and will cost $1,120 fully fitted. Sounds reasonable given there's a fair bit of work involved in machining up the fittings. Will get rid of the congestion points and make everything run a lot freer plus a nice bit of turbo whistle.

Of course you'll also require stage 2 tune to suit.

Think I'm going to sell it to my wife as a "safety feature"... or maybe not even tell her it's there as she's never going to get under the car to look at it anyway. Now all I have to figure out is how to tell her why the Tig's in the workshop for a night.

It would be just so good to hear back from Viezu what their plans are now for the tiguan and in which time frame we can expect the hardware to be released and for which price of course. I'm also starting to source my components now from elsewhere as I believe Viezu are concentrating on the GTI and especially the R exclusively....that's at least the feeling I'm getting so far

I think all the tuners do the Tiguan as a bit of an afterthought. They have done the development on Golf and it's only minor adjustment/tweak and they can add Tig to their list.
In all fairness to the tuners they are going to sell 20 Golf tunes for every Tiguan they sell so you can't blame them for focussing on the GTI and R.
Join the club of frustrated Tig owners.... or just bite the bullet and get some custom work done.

Guys please realise HPX Australia is working on this, and they do a huge range of car parts, all the Walkinshaw stuff, Perry, Hedman, and that's just exhausts. Last time I mentioned the Tig situation to Simon he let me know that apparently the Tig has an unusual number of sensors in the exhaust, and this was causing problems. May be why your choices are limited????

I do understand, try finding exhaust options for a diesel, let alone one with a DPF. Still nothing legal since 2008.....

Yes - hey guys - we're all very much 'on it' - it's taking longer than expected but it is actually a priority. Gti 5 and 6 stuff has been unifficially available for a good while - twin and quad exit TBE's with carbon diffusers to match.

Tigs are getting the same treatment - but it appears there's good reason no one else makes DP's for these things - they are a pain in the butt...

But we're nearly there. You guys are as much a priority as other models in the VAG range.

Sure we sell truck loads of R and GTi tunes, but Tigs are awesome and we are not going to be neglecting them.

As ever, anyone in VIC who can help out with final test fits will mean getting it done even faster.

Hey Simon/Greg,

That's cool. We appreciate that at least one manufacturer out there is interested in making parts for our Tigs - hopefully at reasonable prices so that it's genuinely affordable.

I think the main comments recently have been around the fact that this thread was started almost 6 months ago now. We do understand that it does take development time etc particularly when working with a larger outfit that wants to get things right before releasing a product which is great.

However the reality of the situation is that a lot of us update our cars on a regular basis and to hold off 6 months can be 20% of the ownership period of the car (i.e. a big chunk).

I think a few people thought that the product launch was imminent back in March and have put off making a decision on hardware until the VAR release but now a lot of us can't wait any longer so understandably are looking at alternative options.

Hell if I could get my car down to you you could have it for as long as you liked!!! It's just sitting in storage until Xmas when we come home from Hong Kong!!!

At the end of the day, the hardware will be ready when 'it's ready to be released' and asking questions will of course not speed the process up, but an indication for price/parts/release date would probably be much appreciated so some of us don't have to buy now what's available on the market.

I also think that diesel parts suffer due to the US market not having the diesel models. If the largest market in the world had them, then more diesel option parts would exist. Supply & demand simply doesnt exist as it does for petrol powered vehicles.
