Yes I am trying to rally up some money on my side as well. Crossing my fingers as I have to still set aside some for my overdue 'holiday' in March. Haha

I'm hoping we can rally even 5 and hopefully ask for just a tad better discount. But hey... If there's 3, it's still at a good price.

Yeah I'm ready to pull the trigger at a moment's notice. Only thing is, I'll be up in Bendigo during the week so won't be able to pay for or pick up the wheels until the weekend.

What size are you guys thinking of getting? 18's or 19's? Did Jason put any limit in terms of sizing? i.e. 3 or more puchases of 18' or 19' only or any mix?

Yes I did speak to him personally and inspected the goods myself. I even got to put the wheels up against my skoda. Nice malaysian/singaporean guy. I was at his warehouse on thursday. Not too far from my place really.

I think the pricing he gave was for 19" wheels since that was what I was initially asking for. I will double check w him as to pricing if it's a mixed size combi.

As for timing, hoping to wait another week if that's ok w u to see if there are more guys. Wld prefer to get it at a better rate if we can rally 5 or more.

Nah I forgot to ask on the day but going by his previous posts on golfmkV forum for 18's it was $999. Weird thing is, on ebay, he lists the 19's for $949?????

I'm okay with the price. really rekon the 18's should be $800 though if 19's are $900. DId the $850 that Jason quoted for 18's group buy price or standard/regular pricing?

Just spoke w him to clarify the $850, he confirms that $850 is for group buy. But I'm asking him to rework some figures for a bigger bulk of 5 or more. He will come back to me. Hopefully he can give a better discount on the 18's.

$800 for 18"

Can you advise which offset and center bore you need? ET45, 57.1 cb? And the color finishes.

Right, you fellows look to be ready for a set of wheels! One thing to keep in mind is that the stock locking bolt won't fit, so you'll need to buy 4 regular bolts to bolt the wheels on properly. About $24 from the VW dealer. (for 4)
Or you can get some alternative after-market locking bolts from a guy in the 'States who i'll have to try & re-find contact for...

You may also want one of these babies:



Has the nylon outer to protect the paint.

Also good to know that the black plastic bolt covers won't fit any more. The recesses in the wheels are a bit smaller...

Thanks for that extra info Matt! Good man! I had no idea abt that. That white bit is the nylon bit? I definitely wanna get an aftermarket lock nut for the rims. But had never thot of it yet until now!!!
