      To be honest I wasnt disappointed with my tune as it is pretty much inline with the claim by APR however their claims for some of their other tunes, like the Golf R tune and TSI tune for example, are just plain bogus!
      Everyones butt dyno is different though so the only real way to end all questions in your head is to have a before and after dyno in similar weather with the same brand of fuel to see what the gains are.

        Nindey, as mentioned by PM, you're welcome to try it in my manual. Not that it will be any use to you in your auto... But may be interesting none the less!
        Also, as mentioned, i was mildly disappointed to begin with too... Switched back to the stock map last weekend for a 15 min run & it def. wasn't as much fun to drive...
        So, in my opinion, certainly more spirited feeling, but no way a night/day difference.

        Now how about that meet-up so i can have a listen to your exhaust? !!

            I think the OP has hit it on the head, the customer service so far has been v.good. It appears that for his engine/trans combo, the tune doesn't make a lot of difference.

            It's a shame the dealer can't do the dyno as it seems odd you'd have to pay for before/after dyno runs to prove the product doesn't perform as it should.

            OP have you got a smartphone & one of the dyno apps? Maybe you could get some rough figures out of that?

            Also, I don't recall you saying what fuel you were using.

              I think it's based on subjective feelings, at least he should take it to the race track and have done 1 lap before tune and secondone after.

                  Why does the "bogus" tuning figures bollocks come up every time there's a few APR haters around. I must have posted this dyno graph at least 6 times now and still the haters come on with no proof, well here is positive proof;



                  Allowing for drive train loss APR's figures are absolutely spot on. I'm more than happy with mine and it's embarrassed quite a few so called "performance" cars.

                  Can we please stop the "my tune can piss further than your tune" bull**** and stick to providing some useful information?

                    With respect to the OP, this is all based on the his perception of how the car should feel after being flashed. The above quote may indicate the expectation is unrealistic, no way is a Tig going to perform as well as a GTI given the diffeence in weight.

                    In reality the logical course of action is to dyno the car in stock mode and again in flashed mode. If the figures show there is little difference, then he is entitled to post publicly his disappointment.

                      Are you talking about a stock GTI or chipped (remapped) GTI? If you're talking stock GTI, the APR remapped Tig will do a stock GTI all day everyday, from standing start to hill climbs, to 'other' tests that good sense I wouldn't discuss here. I know, because I got tired having GTIs trying all the time. There's someone on the GTI forum here that could atest to what I'm saying as on more than one occasion he tried it on against the Tig.

                        My interpretation is that he is referring to a chipped GTI Vs a chipped Tig. Given the output of a chipped Tig is virtually identical to a chipped GTI and a Tig is heavier, no way will a Tig be or feel as quick as a GTI. It would be a bit like me chipping my Eos and complaining it is not as quick as a GTI....of course not, it's 150 Kg heavier.
