Anybody know if the new facelift tiguan will come with the keyless start entry system / push button start/stop as an option?

This option should seriously become standard on the 155 or atleast offered as an option, Mitsubibishi and hyundai have got this as standard for crying out loud!

It's not on the option list.

So? Buy a Mitsubishi or a Hyundai if you really want the feature that much.

Have the tiguan on order mate, thought I'd clarify on the option as I was receiving different info from diff people, Although I was really keen on the option I wont trade a tiguan in for any mitsu or hyundai. My point was the tiguan is a great car an imo a luxury range car so having this as an option should have been incorporated into the options list rather than leaving it out for the aus market. Alot of cars these days have this as an option. That was the point I was trying to make

I agree with what you're saying, if you're going to wait for cars that you've ordered we should get all the options, although some are not practical due to having to be complied and keeping a holding of parts there is no reason why others are not available. But it seems that VW are reducing the number of options available across the board, which would be fine if they kept more stock to lesson the wait time but it seems there are still the same delays and problems with getting a car that suits your requirements either in stock or on the way.

That may be the case in AU, but the option listing for Tiguans (and other VW's) overseas is huge. Have a look at the UK and DE pricelist PDF's, the variations go on for pages ! I too wanted keyless start (have it on my present car) - was surprised it wasn't going to be a option given there wouldn't be many unique parts. And killing the "off road" option seemed a bit strange too... Oh well

UPDATE: The new NZ ones are all 6 speed auto (non DSG) due to a shortage of DSG boxes, but they have the latest park assist and driver fatigue package standard.

Even the diesels? My daughter has ordered DSG Tiguan, but now we're seriously considering getting it with A/T instead. Too much have changed in that update for 2012 for us, will have to talk to the dealer what we will actually get?

All the NZ Tiguans are 103kw diesels, you can't get the petrol here. The original Tig was 6 speed auto only (as is mine) up till early this year when they went to 7 speed DSG BUT the "facelift" model just released are all 6 speed auto for now anyway. Remember this is NZ ONLY, situation is different in Ausi with "some" models coming with 6 speed auto and others with 7 speed DSG.

                      Cheers

This doesn't bode well for getting a DSG any time before Xmas in Australia then.

My two cents is the Australian market is flooded with cheaper options and VW are smart - why compete in a market when people are just going to buy a POS from China?

[EDIT]...and VW refuse to make a POS.

Whether it be a 6 Speed A/T or 7 DSG..... there is a real simple solution to the problem...... do what myself and few others on here have done..... buy a manual!! you have full control.......
Just think, no costly 60,000 km oil changes to do on the trans, no risk of the mechatronics unit doing itself in on the DSG model, no additional lost power through the A/T version, if you don't like driving a car with a clutch, harden up and get used to it.......problem solved.
Tiggy 125TSI, 6 speed manual, tints, comfort pack.
