Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Volkswagen Australia Tiguan Model Year 2012 (MY12) Changes
    Thanks for the info Maverick..
Does this mean that the current shipment that dealers have received for MY12 132kw tigs is 7speed DSG or the Pacific?
I beleive if it is DSG - they will be in demand and will sell like hot cakes...

I believe they will be Pacifics based on the following "We are currently not able to release the Tiguan 132TSI Pacific special models for ordering or the NADCON configurator. Due to this, the Tiguan 132TSI DSG and manual are now available to configure. Please keep this in mind that even though these vehicles are configured as 132TSI DSG & manuals, they will be produced from calendar week 45/2011 or later and will be built as 132TSI Pacific special models with the inclusion of additional features and the automatic gearbox."

Does this mean that will start taking new orders from week 45 which will be only Pacifics..

I have been waiting for a 132kw DSG for months.. convinced my wife to decide against the BMW X1.
I do not think Pacifics will be a popular option even though they come with added extras.

I really really hope the current dealer stock is 132kw DSG and they start new orders on Pacifics from Nov 2011 onwards.
        Keeping my fingers crossed.

The market's moving fast - $20k Mitsu Lancer has colour MFD and bluetooth, not sure if this is 'premium' any more

Yes, initial dealer stock of 132kw does have the DSG. Hope you can find what your looking for.

Hope this is right. Is what you're saying that initial shipments will be 132TSI DSG, then at some point DSG's are no longer available so the Pacific model with the tiptronic will be available until at some point mid 2012 they reintroduce the DSG? This seems at contrast with the details posted by Maverick

VW say any 132TSI's built from CW 45 will the pacific spec.

I sincerely hope this information is correct that dealers have 132kw DSGs.

Are you sure they were new face lift models? Dealer previously told me that end November 2011 was earliest delivery date.

Positive they're facelifted ones... they look like every other current model VW with the horizontal grille lol

The current/old model is on runout with limited stock so they're not gonna be shipping in another load of them.

Wonder if we will get this R Line? Probably not, as VW don't want to offer stuff all options on the updated tig! would be nice though!
I'd buy one, anyone else too?

For what it's worth the facelift model is available from the dealers in NZ NOW.
