Thanks for the link. Not sure about the authors comment about the boot reduction size is because of the inflation kit changing to the space saver tyre!
The article also alludes to a track and field version again I question the authors knowledge.
It shows how little these writers actually know .... or how gullible they are ....
The Tiguan TSIs DO NOT get a new engine. It has always used the MK6 GTI engine ( EA888 ) in 2 states of tune and NOT the MK5 GTI engine. 147kw was deliberately chosen to mimick the MK5 GTI at the time and had nothing to do with it being the same engine.
It has now been changed to 132 and 155TSI respectively ONLY by doing a slight ECU remap. .

Does anyone out there know whether the new Tiguan (Model year 2012) has the option of RVC? Dealers say that it cannot be ordered due to the fact that some parts of the RVC system are out of stock in VW factories. According to the dealers, reason for this is disruption of production in Japan after the tsunami.

If it is not available try a KUFATEC unit - just as good.
Can we start to order this facelifted model from the local dealer?
Sure can. I've been quoted for one today. BUT I've not seen any spec sheets and options list so don't know what changes from the 2011 model which is a little concerning. I'd like to have a proper look at what I'm buying - does anyone have any more information on the 2012 range yet?

I've asked my dealer yesterday and he didn't know too many details. I was given delivery times December/January, if ordered now.
1. I like the look of it better.
2. SWMBO like the look better .... critical component !!!
3. The increased apprach angle of 28 degress would be very useful for country work.

I asked the dealer last Saturday about the 2012 model and he said the same thing - that he couldn't configure a new order as the details hadn't been released yet.
After some thought I called him back today to place the order for the 2011 model we discussed on the weekend and he said he could do an order for a face-lift model to arrive in November.

I asked that question and the respond was negative one. Appearently the waste majority of the Tiguan owners never leave the bitumen.

Can anyone confirm that they've ordered a 2012 model against some detailed specs or have they been in the same situation as me wherby they've ordered a 2012 model with 'same spec' as an existing model.

I wish VW Australia would hurry up and release some details on the 2012 Tig such as dates, specs, options, prices etc.
I can't rest easy with my current MY12 order until I know what I'm actually getting and that its a good deal.
Has anyone heard anything on the grapevine when this info will be announced? I know that its already released in the UK and Europe so why not here in Aus?!

I'm going to see my dealer on monday and most likely place an order for the Tig, replacing my daughter's Golf5, so I'll let you know then.
