Definitely one down side with ordering from such a destination.
Eager customs officer finally thinks he's got an opportunity to appear on Border Security and suspects my RNS510 is stuffed full of crack inside.
B@$t@rd better know what he's doing, disassembling & re-assembling my unit!
Not too worry, I had the same and still had it a day later .....

Received my RNS510 yesterday morning. Installed it last night.
Can confirm that installation is certainly very straight forward thanks to the guide Transporter provided the link to. Thanks!
Definitely much less prying than on a Mk5 Golf from past experience.
Admittedly, spent way too much time than needed looking for that ideal spot to place the GPS antenna inside the dash.
Ended up being the top right hand corner ledge, just above the driver side aircon vent.
I can also confirm the swapover from RCD510 to RNS510 is straight plug and play, with no VCDS hacking (thus far).
Everything that worked on the RCD510 (steering wheel controls, OPS, MDI & etc.) continues to work!
However, I do have a serious problem with the accuracy of the GPS.
Stopped at a traffic light and it shows me about 50m behind the intersection.
Admittedly, if I zoom out far enough on the map to see the border of Victoria, my accuracy problem goes away!
Anyhow, Sharkie I know you posted this accuracy problem in another thread.

But did you end up fixing it? And how?
I have lock on 7-8 satellites.
Thanks!
I believe its got to do with 2 things, the accuracy of the maps and the RNS learning as it goes.
Mine used to do this as well, but lately its been spot on. I had it at particular spots on the maps and remember looking at it on Friday whilst going through 1 of those places and it was perfect.
Its weird, but it resolved itself over time .....

I think you are right about this particular issue with RNS510 sourced from eBay.
Did a trip up the coast over the weekend and about 120kms into the trip, the Sat Nav miraculously fixed/recalibrated itself (permanently).
My margin of error is now down to about 5m away from actual intersection and it no longer thinks that I'm on the next street parallel to the actual one I'm on.
My original 50m error was not only vertical, but also horizontal as well (which was very annoying and unacceptable).
Now ... I can live with a 5m error, but on the correct street (considering how much the unit cost)!
But it's very weird indeed!
So time to seal the holes above the head unit and re-fit the cardholder and blank one.
However ... I might swap them around so that the cardholder is on the driver side (assuming they are symmetrical).
FWIW, I placed the GPS antenna inside the dash, on the top right hand corner ledge, just above the driver side of the centre aircon vent (next to the head unit).
Lightning strike roughly marks the spot inside the dash.
