Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

the H&R was also adjustable, but not the heaviest they made...and it was hollow...could have had it sent back for replacement, but return freight costs to USA, and the risk it could happen again, as apparently their had been a few broken ones, made me go for his option to get whitelines at cost.

Also, as the H&R (from memory 26mm) was on stiffest setting, and I felt a bit more wouldn't go astray, i went for heavier duty whiteline, thinking to start at softest setting.

Supplier (through whiteline) offers a few other bits and pieces, but after talking to the man, went with his suggestion that anti-lift (and camber) kit was best bang for the buck.
No regrets, car has better turn in (like i know what I'm talking about...(- and tyres wear better and more evenly. When I first drove it away, after having put OEM bar back on in the meantime, it made a HUGE difference, but you soon get used to it.

BTW, i have a daily commute up and down the range, so plenty of bendy bits...

    • No suspension work done on mine yet.
I have been speaking with Tigga1 though and heard about his swaybar dilema in detail.

Hopefully with a heavier duty bar and the anti-lift kit it will only add to the driving pleasure through the twisties.

        • So the LED's took a week to leave Hong Kong, hopefully they will be in before the Sceneic Rim cruise.

Gave the car a wash and took some photos of it for you all.

          And some of the lights.
Firstly the standard parkers and then the normal beams with the uprated Osram Rallye bulbs.

            • LED Bulbs arrived and have been fitted.
The 37mm festoon bulbs fit the rear map lights and the licence plate.
Working on the front map lights now to finish the look.

I don't have footwell lights from memory.
Will have a look tonight and see what is there.
The only ones i am going for next are the front map lights.

                  • That is bright for sure. I prefer warmer light like the OEM for the interior though. As for the front map light, I would change it as well, the current one is too weak to be usefull. Liking the licence plate too.

It is bright, makes the car look completely different.
I would reccomend the 3-LED festoon's as the 6 is very bright.

Looking at a new set of wheels in the near future so i am hoping to move my set on.
Not sure what the asking price should be.

Thinking something more suited to the power
The ones i have now look great and are the ones used on the R-Line tiguan overseas but i want someting more functional.

Interestingly enough i looked at both of those options before i got the ones i have now.

VMR make some nice looking wheels but their cutomer service left me feeling cold.

Can't give away the new wheels i am after until i get them.
