  • APR badging

    As mostof the Tig remaps are APR remaps (I think), how are remapped tigowners re-badging...?
    TSI in red would be my preference, just not sure if available...
    Only recently had my auto 125 done, still amazed at horses, torques and wheelspins...especially in S mode...:-]]

    Debadge with boiling water/hairdryer and fishing line.

    50c worth of red paint and maybe $1 for 3m double sided tape and you have a red TSI badge.

      Not as easy as that V, the red in the I is set into a recess so I think if you painted the T and the S it would look a bit dodgy compared to the I imo.

      The other option is the APR badge that comes with the I II and III emblems for the different tuning stages.

        Could just paint the whole badge, not just the T and S.

          Would make it very much like the 147 TSI badging then though!
          We have the silver "T" and red "SI".

            Do we really want to badge it anyway? I have always loved the stealth approach. Pull alongside someone who thinks..."this is just an SUV"...then show them what we have. (legally of course!)
            Perhaps de-badging though...to keep them guessing!

              I think that was the point

              TSI = 125kw
              TSI = 147kw
              TSI = 190kw

                this .... still undecided ... but leaning towards the new APR badging ....

                EDIT: the debadging has benefits though ... about 2 weeks ago after dusting off a VY SS Ute the owner of said ute was very interested in what was on the back of this SUV that did the impossible. No badge would have deepened the mystery for him ......

                      I'm leaning 2wards debadging...should I leave Tiguan on...?!
                      Clip, may be up your way (Bne) sometime next week...would it suit to call in at or near work on a weekday?

                        I was told that I had to get one of these as it indicated a modded VW.

                        I've only ever seen 3 though, all GTI's - and one was on a friend's (who was the one that told me I had to get one).

                        Interestingly though, the guy in the XR6 that turned around and followed me into the servo that day seemed to know what it meant.

                        Maybe it's a GTI thing?

                          So, where do you get these badges then? Do the guys doing the chip upgrades stock them?

                            no you have to buy to buy them. I originally saw same badge on Pullstarters, but his was a German flag colour I think? Then I noticed the GTI with this colour, asked him what it was etc etc. You get them from here:
                            http://www.eurobadgez.com/
                            it's the black, red, titanium one that they are using.

                              Will look into this once the upgrade is done.
