From what I've seen, Australian-bound Tiguans have roughly a 2 month time difference between the build date and the compliance date.

In saying this, we had a major issue with a customer who bailed on a deal only hours before she took the keys because she eventually read that the car was built in October '09, and complied in December '09 (This was after we'd fitted numerous big-dollar accessories). Regardless of the fact that it was a 2010 model, she insisted we order another car so that it had a 2010 compliance date on it.

Talk about splitting hairs.

If the VIN goes WVGZZZ5NZAW######, it's a 2010 model, regardless of if it was built in 2009.

Im sure thats a hair the dealer will split when it comes time to trade her in on a new car!

Does anyone know where to find the built and complied date on the car?

My car is a 2010 model, built in 2009, and I don't know when it was complied. When I get insurance what year am I suppose to tell them the car is?

Your insurance company is able to split model years. So according to them your car will be an 2009 tig MY10 update. Which will usually give it a slightly higher market value than an MY09

Yeah that's what I thought. Then I received the rego cert which states the year as 2010; and I found out the car was complied in Jan 2010. So I called up my insurer to clarify this and they said they will base the year on the rego cert which is 2010.

In terms of the insurance cost, I will be getting a refund of $70 for a 2010 Tig instead of a 2009 MY10 Tig.

Sounds like a coding issue. Take it back, and query the dealership.

I doubt, you would get it to work with the atermarket audio you've put in. Its meant to work with the OEM RCD510&RNS510.

Not sure on that one - the older climate control (with two small LCD screens for temperature) doesn't integrate with the RNS-510, I know that much...

Bugger, I should have got in a month earlier.

Ordered mine in January and have been told a build date of May.
So 4 months before it even gets built.
You are lucky to have got in on the end of the earlier build.

Does anyone happen to know the production schedule for 2010 built Tigs? I've been told they are not scheduled until late March so wouldn't get one until July/August...

Voice control is only avalible on RNS 510 and cars that are marked MY10.5 will have these features Climate control style are same from what I have seen delivering two 125 maqns MY10.5 already.. . Week 2 was the earliest build week for 2010 that I am aware of being my 10.5 125 mans where built then.. Ian saying that I have 147 and a like with build weeks coming up to week 20 Massive blowout world wide. Hope this clears up what dealers are telling customers are not lies.. the week two builds I put orders through in oct09 cheers

So PhilVW taking in account the delays for build time (week 20) when would be a good time to order a Tig to gain a MY11 model - would another 6 weeks be correct ???.
