Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Can't wait to see the final result. Might seem like a dumbo request but could you take a side profile of the car when everything's done? Just helps to give a good idea of the overall stance. Cheers. I should be studying for my stinkin exams but can't stop thinking of your sexy Tig. Hmm now if only I could convince my wifey to let me get rid of mum's honda jazz and get a Tig he he he...rubbing my mits already (even though chances look bleak). Most likely this is gonna be the result of asking: *sigh*

Oh well, at least I can count on Team_V in realizing these dreams if I don't get the chance to rite mate?

Looks llike i'll be stuck with the lil Pogo gti for a while longer before I can pass it down to my lil bro as an excuse for something newer and better.

P.S. I'm so JEALOUS of you now cubes!!! You lucky man.

Bring it along to DOVW at Cranbourne on Sunday so we can have a look in the flesh.

Cubes, you surely are the master of suspense.

Can't wait to see how it looks with the new springs.
Need some pics and hopefully a rolling shot if possible.

What's the DOVW (I am new to VDubs, the new ones anyway) and what time is it on might try to get down there, I am around the Chadstone area.

Cubes, you surely are the master or suspense
Just trying to balance work and home commitments not to mention trying to get the car off the missus, it will be a week tomorrow and only 266km clocked up.

"Day of the Volkswagen" is arguably the biggest annual VW gathering in Australia. Cranbourne Racecouse, which about a half an hours drive from Chaddy. Check out the "Clubs, Meets and Events" section. Forum members from all over Australia make it a must attend event each and every year.

Doh, how did I miss that one , I normally go to the All Ford Day shows having a 1965 XP Futura hardtop which I have had as my first car and is an ongoing Hotrod/Pro-tourer project and most of the times I head out to the Canberra SummerNatts where I will be taking the Tig early next year.

Any way here are the pics with the H&Rs, pics could be better because of bad lighting and limited space.

                        WOW!

That looks awesome. I'm seriously thinking of trading in my Mk5 GTI on a Tig next year.

Cranbourne shouldn't be too far down the southeastern fwy, just that having young kids I have to organise around them and or plan ahead, what time is DOVW, again the pics don't do it justice. Still needs some subtle body mods to set it off, maybye the authentic VW fender flares painted body color or the ABT or Caractere ones(not as subtle but there is worse out there. Not a big fan of body kits but it does need something to differentiate from a stocker, even if it is colrcoded bumpers and mouldings like an R-line.

Have the ride characteristics deteriorated to any degree?

Excellent work Cubes, you'll find that the springs will settle a little bit more over time too
