Can you take some photos of your audio updates and it would have been good to show how to replace the speakers in the doors and where your Amp is located and secured.
There's not much to see really, the new speakers were installed in the stock factory locations so they're hidden (which is what I wanted). Don't have any pics of the install as I didn't do it myself, I'm over DIY installs LOL. Amp is located under the driver's seat, installer told me there's a rise in the floor there so they had to use some spacers to mount it at each end of the amp.
Dave, standard charge for a wash is "1 million dollars"
Thanks for the kind words guys, I'll be sure to post up more pics as things happen

Have you had some thought about the black wheelarch strips ? On your Black car it does not show too much, but on the other colours it really shows up.

I did think about colour coding too Johan but as you say it doesn't show up too much against the black, I may change my mind on that I've been known to in the past
Waiting on springs, really not sure on an ETA for those, I think you're waiting on H&Rs too yes? Hopefully wheels will be on this week, waiting to hear back from wheel guy at the moment. Anyone want some near new rims and tyres?

I did mine myself, but sorry don't have photo's. Basically the OEM speakers are in a plastic all-in-one housing that sticks out a long way from the door. When replacing with 6 or 6 1/2 speakers, you need to make up a mounting spacer or else the rear of the speaker will hit against the window strut in the door. You can buy pre-made spacers, but my advice would be to make sure they are mdf, not the plastic ones - or make them yourself.
On the upside, VW never lets us down with really well sealed doors, all you need is a bit of extra sound deadening on the outer door skin and you've got probably the best sounding doors on the road!

Thanks fellas for all the advice much appreciated. What are the OEM speakers like in terms of quality (basic magnet and cones?). As for doing it myself, I 'll need to know how so I don't break any trim so I'll investigate. Which are the best type to replace the OEM cones with? I guess getting similar or the Dynaudio non OEM speakers is not possible. My kids don't let me play loud music but I did notice the clarity of the Dynaudio in a test drive so one day I'll get around to it. Thanks!

OEM speakers are no more than 50cent speakers (truly), absolute rubbish.
You won't break the trim unless you are a ham fisted goose!
As for best speakers - how big is your wallet? Dynaudio is superb gear - I have Dynaudio speakers at home that are astounding but very expensive and need lots of quality power to perform to their best. As for car audio, you can buy Dynaudio after-market speakers that are quite possibly better than the OEM Dynaudio ones. But there are also equivalent or better brands e.g. Hertz, Focal etc. - all depends on how much you want to pay and what you like the sound of.
BUT be sure that if you are going to replace your speakers with quality alternatives, you MUST amp your system. Otherwise you will quite possibly end up with worse sounding system. Quality speakers need power from a quality amp. Simple as that.
About 45mm drop at the rear and 35-ish at the front. Went with the H&R springs thanks GTI_Dave The ride is a little firmer but barely noticeable, what is noticeable is the steering is MUCH sharper and the car sits MUCH flatter through the corners. Very happy with the result
PS, Sorry for the crappy pics on the angled driveway, only got home just before dark.
Looks great mate!
Our almost twins are becoming even more slightly different!
Would be interesting to see them side by side now?!?!?!
Oh yeah and even our registration plates are virtually identical!!!!!
