Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Just an update. All the info here was very valuable thanks everyone. Didn’t need the broker in the end. I’ve ordered a white Allspace with R-Line, Sound and Vision and tow bar. 3 months rego which helps with tax deductions. $60,500. Happy with the price and process at the local regional dealer.

      • Yeh brand new. Mid Oct delivery apparently which is good with me as I was looking at mid nov anyway.

I used your price as a guide and thought I’ll aim a bit lower. Add $500 for the extra 9 mths rego, $2k for sunroof and $600 for tint that’s not included in mine and it’s only around $500 less then yours. Better in my pocket then theirs tho.

That's $1,500 less than my "quote" without a sunroof!

                • Hi all,
have been lurking for a while and thanks for all your tips.
I just pulled the trigger on a Wolfsburg Edition this morning.
Oryx white + Sunroof for $61k driveway, no other extras.
Had spoken to three other dealers: 1 didn't even want to give me a quote, 1 never called back, 1 gave me a quote for $64k.

It will be a very long wait and I am just looking forward to seeing one of these in dealerships in Oct/Nov.

                  • I just emailed every dealer in Sydney, Wollongong and Central Coast and of about a dozen, only 8 returned my initial enquiry.
They must just have too many customers to choose from...

                      Dealers are lazy mate.
I had been from pillar to post to find a dealer that actually cared enough to know the details of the Tiguan i was interested in.
These same dealers will be different animals as soon as the car is on the way and they havent sold their allocation.

                      • The regional dealer I went through was fairly honest post sale and explained it’s a volume game. They need sale numbers. I’m guessing metro dealers get plenty of volume to meet their targets so they don’t need to chase or discount as much.

                        • Just placed a deposit on 2019 R-Line with panoramic sunroof, sound & vision package (active info display, area view & Dynaudio sound system) and boot liner for $56,700 in Sydney in white colour but won’t be ready til March 2019. Had to add on the loading sill protector for extra $250 which in my opinion is a must.

Apparently MY19 and beyond Highline and Comfortline the DAP, 19” alloys and ACC comes standard now.

                          Now the wait.

This is an addition to my 14 MK7 GTI

                            Congrats! Really good price imo

                            3 questions

                            1- why the long wait?
                            2- why not Wolfsburg
3- an allspace is all that with an extra 2 seats (obviously more expensive but you dont have such a long wait)

Thanks. I went to several dealerships and bargained them down to what I thought was the best price I could achieve.

                              1. I wanted the 2019 model so the lines are being built in January-ish.
                              2. In my opinion I don’t like black coloured alloys - prefer the classic shiny alloys. Less is more I’d say.
                              3. Allspace is slightly longer and having a small family it’ll be wasted space - prefer having bigger boot space.

The boot space in the allspace is bigger than the 5 seater my friend. The 2 extra seats are occasional i.e can be put down for extra boot space.
