Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Would my 132tsi comfortline with luxury pack, dap, tint and rubber mats at 50770 be considered reasonable? It seems most people here have the highline.

RRP on the 110TSI Comfortline with DAP and metallic paint is $45,500 so $39,380 is a decent discount.

      • Quick question: the prices shared in this topic, do they include the stamp duty, rego, green slip, etc?

It’s up to each person to be clear but I’m assuming these are all drive away prices with everything included.

            • We managed to only get it down to $50265 driveway for a Sportline with the Pano Roof at 1.8% finance.

More money in the offset, the better

We are also going with the 1.8% finance on the 132tsi which works out to be a significant saving over 4 years. Considered the sportline also but the Mrs really wanted the DAP and its her car really

                • The Sportline actually has nearly all the DAP features, minus the wanky dash, 360 degree camera and maybe a few other things.
Same, the Tiguan is mainly for the boss lady to drive, I actually wanted to get a fully loaded Hyundai Santa Fe but was told NO lol

Comes with this all part of the package:
                  Adaptive Chassis Control
                  Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
Automatic kerb function when reversing, passenger’s side exterior mirror

Driving profile selection with 4MOTION Active Control
                  Emergency Assist
Front Assist with City Emergency Brake (City EB) and Pedestrian Monitoring functions
Lane Assist, lane departure warning system with adaptive lane guidance

Park Assist, parking bay and parallel parking assistance

                      • Looking at a demo 132TSI comfortline with DAP for the Mrs, problem is it's 2017 build. How much would/could I expect to be discounted (if any) because it's not a 2018 build?

It really depends on how keen the dealer is to shift it. Remember that MY19 will be here in a couple of months so you’ll take a double depreciation hit on it being 2017 build and MY18.

I would be negotiating fairly aggressively on something like this. 10% off RRP would be absolute minimum but I would start at 15%. July sales are typically slow so you may do better negotiating a deal closer to the end of the month when a dealer is chasing numbers to reach sales quotas.

With the new MY19 coming out, how much should one pay DA for a New MY18.5 Tiguan 162 Highline with DAP & Rline ?

Just remember that most of the DAP features (minus active info display) are standard features in MY19 so I’d effectively take the price of the DAP off as a start.

It’ll come down to how much the dealer needs the sale but 162 R-lines don’t hang around long so you may need to cross shop them on a Q5/XC60 to try and get them to play ball.
