        What boost are you running? Is there more in the IS38 or is the stock cooler and fuel system need to be beefed up?

          I haven’t measured it, however I have been told the IS38 tune maxes out at 27 PSI.

          In terms of additional upgrades, it’s stock IC and fuel pump. I don’t drive the car hard, in summer (stock IC) it may be the archieles heal, but I’ll deal with that when it’s an issue. In terms of fueling APR were R&D ethanol flex fueling, I was hoping they’d do an E40 tune for the IS38. Fingers crossed something gets released soon.

          I was eyeing the IS38 hybrids TTE610R, snail turbo and DBV2 and Big Turbos BOSS500 and EFR7163 It would be totally nuts to have that on a Tiguan!!!! Maybe you could be the first ?

            I'm a mech engineer so I like to see all the numbers and details.. Would have been good to see boost, a/f l, intake temps and the powercurve.... You need to get you tig on a dyno..

            Not sure what I will do next with the Tig, might sell the wifes merc and pass the Tig onto her and I get something like an RS3...

              RS3 FL is nuts with a stage 1 E85 tune....that platform is serious business. I went in the APR RS3 with E85 and it hammers hard. You can feel the G-force pinning you back in the seat.

                Owner of Etuners who did my tig just got one and is already stage 2.

                • Not sure if anyone else has done this yet, but this arvo did the airbox mod, by cutting out the blocked side of the air intake. Full details in this thread - RS Airbox

                  What I did notice, surprisingly after the mod, the engine/induction noise is quieter, which I was not expecting. Had got quite used to the engine sound with the mods done so far. Reckon it also feels a little smoother, quite subtle bit definitely smoother.

                  Can really hear the engine sucking in air, when cruising around 60-80km and accelerating hard. Couldn't hear that so much previously.

                  To date have done the following

                  • APR Stage 1 tune
                  • ECS silicon inlet hose
                  • APR turbo inlet pipe
                  • Snow grate removal
                  • BMC high flow air filter


                  Booked in Monday for APR down pipe and dog bone, plus Stage 2 tune.

                  Car has really come alive with what I've done so far and looking forward to the next mods

                  • Sounds good, call your dealer first and ask them to check whether the file is available. Ask for the pops and bangs file for stage 2, hopefully they have built the file now, when I checked a few months back it wasn’t available.

                      Forgot to ask about pops and bangs when I booked it in, will definitely be asking when I take it in. Not getting the Res delete at this stage, at the recommendation from Simon - Peerless Automotive. Reckons I should see how it all sounds first with the extra work done and then decide after that.

                      • If you are getting the APR MQB downpipe for the Tig (DPK0021), the midpipe already comes with the resonator delete, so it’s already done mate.

                        To be honest, oncold start it sounds a little loud. Pops and bangs sounds better when the engine is warm and at operating temp >90 degrees. I’m looking for a muffler, but apart from some Russian one on eBay there isn’t much around.

                          • VW Park took some of the pops and bangs with stock muffler, I’ve got to ask them to post it. It’s sounds a bit tinny but it’s a novelty I guess.

                              They’re telling me muffler delete is not done with the DP, so a little perplexed as checking the APR site and it looks like it is for the AWD MGB pipe. Will chat Monday when I drop it off.
