How do I go about getting rear sway bars?

Would you do it before springs?

Also is it Eibach or H&R the better option?

I got an 034 adjustable rear sway bar installed in early December.
I have been running the Eibach springs since early September.
The sway bar has really firmed up the ride and has eliminated all body roll.
The bar was installed using the firmest setting.
The springs on their own did a good job of removing most of the sloppiness around bends.

If your not fussed about the ride height, get the sway bar first.
Otherwise get the springs done first, that's my take on it.

Rear sway bar is next on my list too.

Anyone know whether a stock Golf R one is any much of an upgrade? I might see going down this route before doing the aftermarket heavy duty one.

Well I was warned off the Whiteline rear sway bar for not being strong enough and since I already had the lowered springs the end result would be that I wouldn't be able to tell that I had a rear sway bar installed.
Therefore if the Whiteline is an upgrade to the stock Golf R sway bar then I would hazard a guess that it wouldn't be worth sourcing and fitting the Golf R sway bar to your Tig since you've got the springs already.

Therefore if the Whiteline is an upgrade to the stock Golf R sway bar then I would hazard a guess that it wouldn't be worth sourcing and fitting the Golf R sway bar to your Tig since you've got the springs already.

As far as I know there's a 22 mm and a 24 mm Whiteline solid rear swaybar available. A 24mm with adjustment should make a substantial difference if yours is fitted with an 18 mm or 20 mm standard rear swaybar and a still noticeable difference if fitted with a standard 22 mm.

As for the lowered spring effect on swaybar rates, it's actually the reverse. Lowered springs almost always have higher spring rates, necessary to absorb the bumps in the lesser amount of travel. Since a swaybar effectively links the springs across the axle line raising the spring rate increases the anti roll effect of the swaybar. As a result increasing the swaybar rating together with increased springs rates gives even more antiroll.

Just replacing the soft rubber D bushes with polyurethane increases the antiroll as the rubber soaks up some of the swaybar's effect.

My first suggestion would be to measure the diameter of your OE rear swaybar, there are a few different sizes from what I have seen.

Not sure if the upgraded front sway bar is really required. I think the stock one already is fairly stiff. Also it’s a PITA to install and needs to be done in a hoist in a workshop.

Right so got out on the drive with the verniers and the stock sway bars are 25mm front and 22mm rear.

Which is probably why people aren’t recommending the 22mm Whiteline bar (they also make a 24mm one).

Got it installed through my mechanic as I don't have a garage or driveway either.
I can't quote you the labour cost because I also had my Racingline lower engine mount and dogbone mount swapped out for OEM and had an 034 insert added, so it was costly (but worth it).

How're you finding the 034 dogbone in terms of additional noise/vibration?

There's no noise or vibration with the insert.
I made the mistake of going full race mode with the Racingline lower engine mount and pendulum mount. Everything vibrated on idle, it was horrible.
Now I've got zero vibrations or noise with none of the drivetrain movement.

What are you trying to achieve?

No point upgrading the front anti roll bar (often called a sway bar) as the Tiguan naturally understeers, increasing the front one will induce more understeer.

Upgrading the rear one will make the car turn better, however if you go too thick you'll risk the chances huge oversteer OR lift off oversteer if driven in anger.
