No never, mine is much nicer with pink highlights and as shown above I found it. No temp cos car had been parked in garage for 24 hours.

Mine came looking like Simons but when I changed from it it gave it as a PASSAT Alltrack template ( definitely i looked through OBDII history)

    Mine is Now Golf R

Just taking the mirror lens and top cap off should be enough to get to the motor assembly to grease it I think.

Mine actually started squeaking when opening and closing as well but never got round to doing this before I got rid of it.

Yes i have active display but need to have a play as its definitely activated via OBDII
Those thermometers aren’t pin-point accurate. They average an area of contact points within a ‘cone of view’ the ratio should be written on the body. Maybe 10:1 up to 50:1 for the expensive ones. The ratio meaning at 10m To a flat, perpendicular target (day a wall) it is reading an area 1m in diameter.

In the engine bay, it will get readings from various surfaces- as they aren’t exactly perpendicular to its ‘cone beam’ nor at the same emissivity(sp?)

So, don’t take its reading for gospel.

If you can get a long enough thermocouple and want to risk putting it down the tube, while you’re driving, you can get a more accurate number- not practical though.

Or, you could have a sensor tapped into the block/oil line somewhere and take live readings while the car is running

    Bumping this old thread...

Fitted the Helix “Plug and Play” soundsystem today. Got the subwoofer box one rather than the spare tyre one which probably wouldn’t have fit.

Should have got one ages back, amazing for the $! Not quite Dynaudio sound quality but damn good bang for buck and way cheaper than you could make an equivalent sounding setup. I had previously installed an underseat sub and small 4 channel amp for some extra oomph, the Helix kit is orders of magnitude better for sound quality.
