Does anyone know if you can re-map the physical buttons on the Discover Pro to a different function? One of the more recent Discover head units has an App button which is pretty handy to witch directly to Android Auto/Car Play. Would love to remap say the "traffic" button on mine to do the same.
If I'm using Andriod Auto and switch to the car menu for example, I then have to press the Menu button again, then tap on AppConnect to go back to Android Auto. Not a big deal, but a bit clumsy.

probably not the answer you're looking for, but i've found that if you turn on the engine first, then plug in your phone, appconnect opens up automatically, rather than having to access it via the menu (unsure if this is a carplay-specific feature though)
I think I get the same thing. I tend to switch menus while in the car though, and switching back to Android Auto is a bit clunky. It's not a big deal, but thought I'd see if anyone has done something like this before (might not even be possible).
Hi,
Real newbie here just purchased my first VW - a Tiguan 162TSI R Line and I think I'm now a converted for life.
I've read some through some of these posts and seen some cool features some of you have enabled on your vehicles.
Does anybody know of any companies in WA that I could pay to enable some of these tweaks?
I'm not sure I'm technical enough or would get the value in purchasing a setup for ODBII or VCDS.
Thanks

If it is a 2020 you possibly wont be able to do most of them due to what has been talked about VW doing to the latest models as per this discussion which also applies to VCDS

My Dad has a 2020 NAR model and had no issues. It appears this new protection scheme is only on the Golf MK8 and a particular Skoda model at the moment from reading. This was my concern also when I went to mod his Tiguan to have some of the features I’ve enabled on my 2019 model. His build date was 07/20 also if that helps. It appears the particular MQB platform version that the Golf8 is built upon has the new protective features due to upgraded parts. Hope that helps.

There are definite differences between NAR and ROW models. Already in Australia owners can no longer disable S/S and other things so it seems that its not only "coming" but is already here

I understand that, but we too can't disable start/stop on 2020 models either and that's due to regulations, not the change to the security on the control modules. The newer security protocol would prevent access to the control module in it’s entirety now unless you have the proper keys. I’ll see if I can locate where it's stated that the upcoming security is currently on the Golf MK8 and a specific Skoda model.
VW can hard code/lockdown certain functions within modules even on current control modules. Outside of start/stop being locked down now on 2020 models, another example is the speed at which high beams come on is no longer available to change, but one can still go into 4B and enhance the functionality of the headlights.
just wanted to let you know that the DLA instructions in your google doc is missing a step when compared to the Phonebooth instructions you posted here
I was using your google doc (thank you) and attempted the DLA steps 4 times and without this step got an error with cornering lights. Took me 40mins to figure out but was pumped when I managed to resolve!
Cheers

Woops sorry Have corrected it And here is Phonebooths instructions (Hope he doesnt mind)
I have applied some tweaks to our Tiguan Allspace R-Line which is a MY21 model with MIB3 infotainment system.
There are no "apps" which are supported for this model - so you need a Pro license and need to use Long Coding or Adaptations to apply any change.
Note: any tweak with a security code requires you to have the bonnet unlatched to apply - you will receive a generic error message when using security if the bonnet is not unlatched/open.
SUCCESSFUL
Disable Overtaking on Right Prevention (Undertaking)
Allows ACC equipped RHD vehicles to overtake on the left side, which is blocked by default.
Adaptive Cruise Control (Module 13)
Long Coding
Overtaking_right_prevention
New Value Deactivated
Security code 20103
Rear DRLs
This enables the rear lights to act as daytime running lights - it doesn't turn on dash lights etc. only rear DRLs. Tweak from here.
Central Electronic (09) - Adaptation - Leuchte16BLK SLB35BLK SL KC9 - Lichtfunktion C 16 - Change to Tagfahrlicht (Original Value: nicht aktiv)
Central Electronic (09) - Adaptation - Leuchte16BLK SLB35BLK SL KC9 - Dimmerwert CD – Change to 127 (Original value 0)
Central Electronic (09) - Adaptation - Leuchte17TFL R BLK SRB3TFL R BLK SR KC3 - Lichtfunktion C 17 - Change to Tagfahrlicht (Original Value: nicht aktiv))
Central Electronic (09) - Adaptation – Leuchte17TFL R BLK SRB3TFL R BLK SR KC3 - Dimmerwert CD – Change to 127 (Original value 0)
Central Electronic (09) - Adaptation - Leuchte23SL HLC10 - Lichtfunktion C 23 - Change to Tagfahrlicht (Original Value: Original Value: nicht aktiv)
Central Electronic (09) - Adaptation - Leuchte23SL HLC10 - Dimmerwert CD – Change to 127 (Original value 0)
Central Electronic (09) - Adaptation - Leuchte24SL HRA65 - Lichtfunktion C 24 - Change to Tagfahrlicht (Original Value: nich aktiv)
Central Electronic (09) - Adaptation - Leuchte24SL HRA65 - Dimmerwert CD - Change to 127 (Original value 0)
Now the rear lights are working the same as the DRL:s in the front and all the interior lighting works as from factory.
Enable Adaptive Lane Guidance (Holds Vehicle in Centre of Lane)
Update: had to reboot the head unit and it is fully successful
This tweak will enable ALG, which holds the vehicle in the centre of the lane
Select Module A5
Coding
Security Key: 20103
Change ‘Point_of_Intervention’ to 'early setting via menu'
This will now appear as a menu option under ‘Driver Assistance’
Note: I can see this in the car settings and menu - reboot the head unit and it’s fully working with active info display showing white lines each side of the road which indicate it has locked in markings
UNSUCCESSFUL
Nav nag screens don't work - the bits are already showing off at Byte 23 - maybe because it's MIB3 it's entirely different.
This tweak is meant to disable the safety warning which appears each time you turn the car on
Select 5F
Coding
Byte 23

Is this one of the new update versions or the last of the original ones identical to the 2017-2020 and those are the same as I posted in the list of tweaks I have done
