Maybe yours has the Passive system like what was in my old MK6 Golf, it didn't have sensors in each tyre valve so didn't actually show you the tyre pressure for each wheel. Instead it uses the ABS wheel sensors to detect a difference in wheel rotation speed and therefore a loss in tyre pressure.

Do you tyre valves look like this?

    • oh .. i have to go home and check because i would like to ask you and all the tiguan owners that had actually received the car whether it is like yours or just mine is different. If it is only my case i can so bring it back to dealer to ask them fix it. Thank you

I dont see individual pressures for each tyre either, I have the same setup you describe.... I suspect what we are seeing from NZ_GolfR is a result of the OBDeleven modifications!

I reckon that Australia doesn't get this and New Zealand did.

                • Definitely not a result of the OBDeleven mods. The Active Tyre Pressure monitoring requires special sensors in the tyre valves:

Looking at the NZ Spec sheet we get the Tyre pressure monitoring system (7K3) across the whole Tiguan range:

any idea how I can fix the awful black matting?

BTW - the plates don't really look like that - for some reason the iPhone camera sees the plate a being a lot lighter than my eyes do

Oz spec just shows low tyre pressure indicator only

                        • I guess you guys do miss out on this then, really can't understand why though??

From my understanding there is a sensor somewhere in each wheel arch that picks up the signals from the sensors in the wheels. I wonder if the hardware in the wheel arch is there in your ones and then you just need the tyre sensors or if all the hardware is totally missing.

Do you have any info for the typre monitoring in the Infotainment system? I can view the details for this here are well under the Vehicle Status:

On a side note I just noticed the blue on the Infotainment screen, will have to have a look and see if I can check it to gold to match the AID.

                          • All of you are right, I checked and found that VW used normal cap to close on each tyres not the one showed by NZGOLF. We paid almost 60k for just intentive missing this passive system, how much does it cost just to cut it out?

This Tig is the first time I've bought a new car in 8 years. The improvement in tech in that time has made it a really exciting purchase. But, damn, it's really hard to understand the business logic behind the minor variations in tech features across countries. And frustrating to find myself on the "missing x" end of that variation!
