I have ordered/received my New Tiguan

I also got the same "latest computer date says" blah blah, "its a really popular model" blah blah, "we are really sorry" blah blah. I don't really hold it against the dealer, but how its being dealt with by VW seems pretty poor.

I have no idea, having not owned a VW for more than 20 years, whether this is the "customer experience" I can expect from VW, but if it is, I might just start to look elsewhere. I have sent a message to the dealer basically saying, "I assume because of the delays vs the original promise date, there is no issue getting my deposit back and cancelling the order?". No reply so far.

For what it's worth:
Multiple brands have delivery issues on specific models or options. The reason why French brands don't have these big delays as VW/Audi/BMW has, has to do with the ridiculous high number of individual options and engines you can choose compared to a French car for example.
Also the demand is way higher then expected.
It's not an excuse of course but I prefer configuring my car completely with the options I prefer and wait a little longer on it although they should not make false promises and if they do, compensate you a bit sounds normal to me.

I Had some accessories for free for example on my Golf 6 at the time. (Took 9 months)

Wondering if everyone with their new tiggys have front assist enabled. Had a sign come up stating mine is disabled whilst toggling with traction control. Any thoughts ?

Turning traction control off will disable front assist. Turning it back on should re-enable the front assist and any other assistance programs.

Ordered 4 March for '...end of April' delivery (yeah, trust me), built 20 May (missed MY18 build by about a week - bugger!), and to be collected this afternoon.

140TDI Highline in white, DAP, sunroof, tow bar and mud flaps. We specified the Storm Grey leather, so keen to see what it looks like for real.

Hoping the wait has been worth it!

Hi All, FINALLY picked up my fully loaded white 162TSI last Friday and so far loving it. Waited 9 months for the car and just missed out on the My18 sux but what can you do? So for those waiting, hang in there. Can't be worse than me .

I'm thinking if I should get windows tinting because the standard already have UV protection and also back privacy screen as well. Any thoughts or advice?

I am in Canberra too and will pick up my 140TDI with DAP and storm grey interior the beginning of Sept. What colour paint did you get? I don't want any competition from other Tigs ��

Congrats, interesting on the UV protection, my dealer said it didnt have it so whilst i tinted the front, also had a UV film applied to the back windows so it matched all the way around. Prefer to have my cars tinted makes it easier on the AC in summer I feel plus the privacy factor as well.

With regards to the Tiguan Highline, we can confirm the UV penetrability is as follows:
Front screen <1%
Front side windows <31%
Dark tinted rear side and rear window glass <5% green glass (65% light absorbing)
Optional panoramic roof <5%
