Hello all. Ordered my silver petrol R line with DAP today. The dates I got was Sept delivery. So after reading all the comments here I'm more expecting a Dec/Jan delivery. The car is for my wife so the wait is not bothering me too much.

Just to add myself to the list of those waiting, we ordered ours from McCarrolls in Hornsby last Thursday, same setup as Eyes24 (thanks again for the help).

162 R-Line, DAP, Pano in Indium Grey

My ETA is end of August as they changed an already allocated one from White to Grey.

For those still looking, my numerous calls to Dealers around Sydney on 30/3 came up with the following for 162s with R-Line:-

Fivedock - White, DAP, Roof - May
Fivedock - Red, DAP, Roof - June
Sutherland - White, DAP, Roof - 1 Week!
Sutherland - 140TDI Black - Now
Waitara - White, DAP, Roof - June
Sydney City - Order from factory only
North Shore - Grey, DAP, Roof - Oct
Parramatta - Grey, NO DAP, NO Roof - End June

Hi bendor, thanks for the info. Very useful. Can I ask what sort of deal you got in the end? Did you have to pay pay a premium or could you negotiate a good price? I might be looking at waitara too.

Yep sure, I was originally quoted $65 by my local dealer for a fully loaded black one that had fallen through so was in the showroom to sit in....it took all my willpower to resist!

First negotiation was $61k for a factory order, then it got down to $60.5k.

Then after ringing around I quoted my best offer as $60k which most of them were willing to match if there was a wait involved, but finally I got my deal for $58.4k due to Association discount, apparently there is a list of them that qualify for a cashback payment to the dealer!

Now I'm fairly sure that the cashback amount is $1300 at the top level which is what we got so that would make it $59.7k.

Have a grey 140 R line with DAP on order. Delivery on a boat that lands in Sydney May 10 apparently. I know there were a few posts about how people can track their Tiggy en route - Could someone please post a link?

Like everyone else waiting, I'm super excited but getting the VIN and knowing she's on her way is definitely helping.

Just got an email from the sales manager and he provided me with a screen shot from the Patricks dealer portal. The status of the car has now moved to "ready for transport" which means it should be at the dealer in the next 2-3 days! Not long now buddy. Fingers crossed you get yours soon as well!

I paid my deposit for a white 162TSI with R-line and DAP about a month back, to secure a car the local dealer said they already had on order (they actually had one with a sun roof and were dealer swapping it to my choice of no sunroof). They were originally talking about a July delivery, but just emailed to say the latest update is 14th Aug 2017 in Fremantle port. How far out should they have a "its been built" date, or "its on a boat" date?

This was a rather complicated deal that involves me giving my own part ex car up to them, prior to the arrival of the new one. I suspect so they can sell it before having to pay VW for the new one. They are giving me a loan car for the duration, but when they were talking about that being a month, I was cool with that, but if it starts slipping to many months, we may need a re-negotiate. Hyundai Getz vz Landrover Discovery - umm!!

If it's arriving in port on 14th Aug, then you probably won't get it until early September (maybe late Aug). It typically takes 10 business days or more days to clear the port and get delivered to the dealership (mine arrived at port on 10th March and the dealer still hasn't received it yet). It will take either 36 days or 52 days to get to Fremantle depending on which route it takes, you count back from that and it will give you an idea of when you could start tracking. Ask the dealer to give you a VIN when they can (follow up if need be).

port to port to Fremantle is going to be about 34/35 days (its usually 39 to Melbourne where I am. You car can typically take up to 15 days to get from the factrory and onto a boat. Sometimes less. So you can assume your car will be built around June 30 to July 7 if that date into Fremantle is correct.

You are still a few weeks from knowing the VIN- maybe your dealer can give you that in early June.

Loving our new Tiguan 162TSI R-Line!

Collected ours on 16th Feb but have been travelling roughly half the time since then, so haven't spent as long in it as I'd like! This is our third Tiguan (2008 103TDI / 2012 155TSI) and now 162TSI Highline, with R-Line and fully optioned. It feels much more premium than before (closer to an Audi) which is great... there's also a crazy amount of tech (I've barely started in on the manual for it!)
